"Reacher" Season 2 Los Angeles Screening - Arrivals

Oliver Richters—who plays Jack Reacher’s massive nemesis Paulie in Season 3—is shown in a new set photo outside Alan Ritchson’s trailer.

After the major success of Reacher seasons 1 and 2 on Prime Video in 2022 and 2023, showrunner Nick Santora has decided to up the ante on Ritchson’s Reacher in Season 3 with Richters.

The hulking, 7-foot-2-inch actor will play Paulie—the bodyguard of Anthony Michael Hall’s mystery character Zachary Beck—in the upcoming third season of Reacher. Season 3 is based on author Lee Child’s seventh book in the Reacher series that was released in 2003.

Prime Video’s Instagram page is giving fans their first look at Richters on the set of Reacher, which you can see by clicking here or clicking below.

In the post, the 7-foot-2-inch actor is seen looking over his right shoulder at Ritchson’s trailer, drawing a line through a sign that says “Reacher” and replacing it with “Paulie.” Richters—who hails from the Netherlands—appropriately goes by the nickname “The Dutch Giant.” IGN also posted on X (see below) a size comparison between Richters, Ritchson and original Jack Reacher actor Tom Cruise.

In Persuader (via CinemaBlend), the 6-foot-5-inch Reacher describes how Paulie “was at least six inches taller than me and probably ten inches wider across the shoulders. He probably outweighed me by two hundred pounds. Maybe by more.” At 7-foot-2 inches, Richters is definitely “more” than Paulie in the book.

Hall Likened Richters To Jaws From The 007 Movies

Anthony Michael Hall discussed Oliver Richters in a recent interview with CinemaBlend, likening the actor to the late Richard Kiel, who played massive, steel-toothed nemesis Jaws opposite Roger Moore’s James Bond in The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker.

“He reminds me of, do you remember when we were kids? The Spy Who Loved Me, the Jaws character that Richard Kiel played? He was a literal giant, like seven foot two. … That character [Paulie] does live in the show, and they have an epic battle,” Hall told CinemaBlend of the character’s encounter with Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher.

“I don’t want to give it away, but yeah, they definitely meet as they do in the book. … You know, Reacher and Paulie colliding – there’s something Marvel about that, right? They’re like two superhero-sized guys, so it’s kind of cool,” Hall added for CinemaBlend.

Richters is no stranger to Hollywood, having starred as Ursa in Scarlett Johansson’s 2021 Marvel Cinematic Universe adventure Black Widow, as well as Hauke in Harrison Ford’s 2023 action-adventure Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

Ritchson most recently starred in the true-life faith-based drama Ordinary Angels. Reacher Season 3 is expected to be released sometime in 2025.
