Reacher season 3’s new actor reveals how faithful it will be to Lee Child’s Persuader. Despite the memory of Tom Cruise’s short-lived movie adaptation of the famed books, Amazon Prime Video, spearheaded by Nick Santora still moves forward with its small screen take on the narratives. It ended up being the right decision, with Alan Ritchson’s Reacher immediately becoming a massive hit. After bringing Killing Floor and Bad Luck and Trouble to life via its first two seasons, Reacher season 3 will tackle Persuader — the seventh book in Child’s hit action-adventure series.

In a new interview with Inverse, Anthony Michael Hall, who plays Zachary Beck, teases what to expect from Reacher season 3. Since it is based on a book, he suggests checking out Persuader because the Prime Video series’ junior year is “drawn heavily from that book and adapted from it.” Read his full quote below:

I just wrapped season 3 of Reacher , which I can’t really talk too much about, but it’s based on one of the Lee Child books called Persuader . So if people are real fans of the show, I would suggest maybe digging into that novel because season 3 is drawn heavily from that book and adapted from it.

After moving on from Margrave, Reacher is reunited with the 110th Special Investigations Unit to take on Shane Langston, AM, and New Age. Seeing some parts of his past before he became a vagrant was interesting, but having a solid team behind him throughout Reacher season 2 somehow hampered his abilities. The show’s sophomore year wasn’t able to fully highlight his best traits including his ingenuity. Because of that, the year was overall disappointing. Knowing some details about what comes next for him thanks to Child’s Persuader suggests that this issue will be fixed.

Santora has previously mentioned that they treat Chilld’s books as guides, and they aren’t beholden to every single storyline that is on the page. This is a better approach since they are able to change certain arcs that would keep Reacher still exciting even for those who are avid readers of Child’s books. That said, it is safe to say that it will stick with the premise of Persuader, which means that Jack will have to start relying on himself again. Frances Neagley will appear, but chances are that it won’t be as regular as her involvement in season 2.

No exact release date has been set for Reacher season 3, but it has already been confirmed that it will premiere sometime in 2025. Since filming has already wrapped, it means that the new season will start early next year, which isn’t that far away. Expect that promotional materials about the project will also begin to drop, including a teaser, which may debut Hall’s look as Beck.
