For decades, Tom Cruise has basically been the poster child of Scientology, the controversial religion that has split Hollywood. Back in 2023, there were musings that he was straying from the Church, only to show everyone he’s still fully committed by flying a helicopter into the London headquarters. However, some US-based Scientologists allegedly have beef with him over this lifestyle change of his.
A source told InTouch Weekly that many of the Scientologists in Los Angeles are allegedly upset that he isn’t a staple like he once was in the California Scientology community.
“Tom is only in L.A. every six months or so but he used to be such a huge presence among the church community and at the church facilities and gatherings in Hollywood and in Los Feliz and that’s simply not the case now,” a source close to L.A.’s Scientology community said. “It’s clear he comes to L.A. when he has movie business stuff to attend to but if he needs to practice Scientology, he’s doing it out of Florida, if at all.”
Apparently, he doesn’t “relish spending his precious downtime with Los Angeles Scientologists” because a lot of them are “mixed up in the entertainment business or still trying to ‘make it’” in Hollywood.

Along with that, it’s been alleged that he’s more focused on dating, and dating someone outside of the community.
The source added, “You also see him chasing after women who clearly have no interest in Scientology, which is very telling about where Tom’s heart truly is at the moment. How great for the church would it be if Tom actually dated a longtime, true-blue member? But that’s not what’s happening at all!”
So it seems that while his commitment to the Church is under scrutiny again, it also seems his priorities may have changed from the previous ones he followed adamantly.
