Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco were hot topics of internet discussion when the singer was seen cozying up to her co-star at a concert. Gomez, who starred in the French musical Emilia Pérez, was dirty dancing with co-star Édgar Ramírez in the video that went viral on the internet. Gomez had earlier addressed the cheating rumors that followed the video, sharing that she was just dancing with a bestie.

Internet sleuths even speculated that Gomez had split from her boyfriend Blanco. A new video from Gomez on her Instagram stories proved that none of the rumors had any truth in them. In Gomez’s video, Ramírez was seen doing the same dance move with Blanco, playing a jab at the controversy.

Selena Gomez and Édgar Ramírez have grown a strong bond after playing Jessi Del Monte and Gustavo Brun in Emilia Pérez. Their friendship was questioned after a video went viral from Sabrina Carpenter’s concert in New York on September 29. Gomez’s friend Connar Franklin posted a video on TikTok showing Gomez and Ramírez dancing closely.

Ramírez had his hands around Gomez’s waist in the now-deleted clip, which fans believed to be a very romantic move. Several internet users began to speculate about Gomez’s relationship with Benny Blanco after this video went viral.

The speculations even went extreme when Gomez was accused of cheating on Blanco. In response to a fan-edited video, Gomez shared a video of her together with Ramírez at a Beyoncé concert, with the captions, “Omg how dare I dance with my bestie.”

Gomez has thrown yet another shade at all the rumors as she posted a video where Ramírez had his hands around none other than Benny Blanco. She also used the same Sabrina Carpenter song Bad Chem as background music on this video.

Gomez is still with Blanco as cleared up by her story. They are very much into each other, as the Who Says singer talked gushingly about her partner in a Vanity Fair interview recently. She shared, “I’ve never been loved this way. He’s just been a light. A complete light in my life. He’s my best friend. I love telling him everything.” That says a lot about their relationship.

Emilia Pérez made waves at the Cannes Festival this May with its intriguing female-oriented premise. The film’s female cast, including Selena Gomez, Zoe Saldaña, Karla Sofia Gascón, and Adriana Paz, won the ensemble best actress award at the festival. Gomez and the other cast are now on cloud nine after the film was announced to be the French entry for Best International Feature at the Oscars.

When Gomez was asked about the Oscar buzz, her response was rather simple, “I don’t like to think anything or be presumptuous. I’m just going to say I’m so happy people are receiving it the way they are” (via THR). The film explores the life of Gomez’s Jessi after her cartel leader husband Manitas decides to lead a new life as a woman.
