Disney Channel’s Wizards Beyond Waverly Place series has finally received its first-look teaser, providing fans with a glimpse of the upcoming spinoff. This comes after over a decade since the original sitcom had wrapped up its four-season run.
The video features behind-the-scenes footage from the production of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, teasing what to expect from the Wizards of Waverly Place spinoff. This includes revisiting the Russo’s iconic family lair. It also highlights the return of original cast members Selena Gomez and David Henrie. The Golden Globe nominee will appear as a guest star, while Henrie will be part of the spinoff’s lead cast. Both of them will be serving as executive producers. This marks Gomez and Henrie’s latest collaboration together, after previously working as co-executive producers on the latter’s feature directorial debut, This Is the Year.
Wizards Beyond Waverly Place is written and executive produced by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, with Andy Flickman as its director. The spinoff will introduce a number of new characters, including Janice LeAnn Brown as Billie, Alkaio Thiele as Roman Russo, Max Matenko as Milo Russo, Taylor Cora as Winter, and Mimi Gianopulos as Giada Russo. Besides Gomez and Henrie, it has also been confirmed that David DeLuise will also be reprising his role as Alex, Justin and Max’s father, Jerry. The new sitcom is also executive produced by Flickman, Gary Marsh, and Jonas Agin. It is a production by Disney Branded Television.
Selena Gomez Hypes Up Only Murders in the Building Season 4
In addition to Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, Gomez will also next be seen in Hulu’s highly-anticipated Only Murders in the Building Season 4, which is slated to debut on Aug. 27. According to Gomez, the next installment of the acclaimed Hulu comedy is her most “favorite season” yet, revealing that she’s excited for fans to see what’s next for Mabel, Charles, and Oliver. “I think this is our most exciting season yet. That’s what I would definitely say with confidence, because it was far too fun,” she said. “How it came together was so magical. Everyone had a blast. And people are in for a ride, you know. Taking us to L.A. and then doing all the other stuff is exciting. It’s going to be, to date, probably my favorite season.”
Wizards Beyond Waverly Place will debut later this year on Disney Channel and Disney+.
