Filipino-American singer Sofronio Vasquez fell to his knees and burst into tears when his name was called as the grand winner of The Voice USA Season 26.
The results were announced on Tuesday evening, December 10, 2024 (US time).

The grand finals were held on Monday night, December 9.
For the grand finals, Sofronio sang “Unstoppable” by Australian singer Sia and “A Million Dreams” by Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, and Ziv Zaifman from the musical film The Greatest Showman .
Due to the skills shown by Sofronio, 32, he received the most text votes, making him the winner of The Voice USA 2024 grand champion.
As The Voice winner, Sofronio’s prize includes a $100,000 cash prize and a record deal.
This is the first time a Filipino and Asian have won in the history of The Voice USA, so Sofronio’s chosen coach—Canadian singer-songwriter Michael Bublé—is just as happy.
Sofronio faced off in Final 2 with his Team Bublé teammate Shye, 17.

On December 2, after he made it to the Top 5 , Sofronio thanked all Filipinos who supported him, as well as all his compatriots in New York.
The singer’s post on his Facebook page (with his photo attached) reads: “WE MADE IT TO THE FINALE
“Thank you so much to my Filipinos everywhere and in America who gave so much love and support. And Of course, I wanna say Maraming Salamat to my hometown Utica, Upstate New York, Mohawk Valley and Everyoooneeeeeeeeeee!
“You’re so bad…Please continue to pray fror me.”
Before joining The Voice USA , Sofronio was a contestant in the “Tawag ng Tanghalan” segment of the ABS-CBN noontime show It’s Showtime .
