It seems things are quite topsy-turvy behind closed doors with Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, with insiders alleging things were going downhill, then things were fine, and now, apparently, it’s back to bad.

Inside sources recently claimed to InTouch Weekly that their marriage is “in terrible shape” after the special did nothing to help DeGeneres.

“To put it mildly, Ellen’s Netflix special did nothing to reverse her bad reputation,” the source said, remarking how that special flopping “has only intensified the talk among Ellen and Portia’s remaining pals in Hollywood that their marriage is in terrible shape…..People can tell that something is ‘off,’ because they’ve never really seen Ellen like this before.”

In fact, insiders are alleging that while DeGeneres won’t be at the forefront of the spotlight, she and de Rossi are allegedly thinking about doing something so many celebs have already done: a skincare line.

“Ellen starting a skin care business with Portia reeks of desperation and suggests that it’s hell at home if they need this new project to work on,” the source added. “It really is the strangest marriage in Hollywood because of all the wacky schemes Ellen has dragged them into as a couple, and a lot of Ellen’s side hustles evaporated after her scandal.”

Other ventures DeGeneres has done include the ED Ellen DeGeneres line at QVC, which is no longer available, as well as her record label, eleveneleven, which only lasted from 2010 to 2012.

For those who don’t know, DeGeneres and de Rossi started dating in 2004. Four years later, they married in Aug. 2008, at their Beverly Hills home.

Now, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard about this because earlier this year, insiders told InTouch Weekly that things were allegedly not great at home.

“Ellen being home all the time has taken a toll on their marriage. And Portia isn’t working much either. They’re always in each other’s face, and frankly, they’re getting on each other’s nerves,” they said to the outlet. “Now Portia probably wishes she hadn’t. She doesn’t have her space. Every time she turns around, there’s Ellen… Ellen has lost so much in recent years — it would be terrible if she lost Portia, too.”

Insiders also claimed they were making progress, but apparently, DeGeneres’ failed Netflix special just hit the reverse button.
