SURI and Katie Holmes have been spotted on a mother-daughter outing in New York after the child star dropped her estranged father Tom’s last name.

The budding actress seemingly snubbed her famous dad this week when she was listed on a casting sheet as Suri Noelle.

The 18-year-old was seen walking to dinner with her mom, Katie, 45, on Wednesday, looking solemn as they engaged in a tense conversation.

The teenager, who the actress shares with her ex-husband Tom Cruise, 61, showed off her tall, thin frame in baggy low-rise jeans and a white cropped graphic t-shirt.

Suri paired the look with brown Birkenstock shoes and a matching baggy denim jacket.

She wore her brunette hair tied up and went for light makeup on her evening out.

Meanwhile, Katie dressed up a bit more in high-waisted jeans, a camel-colored turtleneck, and black booties.

She added black sunglasses, a long cream trench coat, and a tote bag for dinner.

The mother of one appeared troubled as she and her daughter exchanged curt words.

Katie and Suri shared no smiles as they were seen looking nearly unrecognizable from one another while walking to and from their destination.

The tense excursion came just one day after it was discovered that the burgeoning star used a different last name while performing in Head Over Heels on Broadway.

The teen opted for Suri “Noelle,” which is actually her mother’s middle name.

However, the celebrity child’s birth certificate lists her last name as Cruise.

Katie and her daughter formed a strong bond throughout her childhood as the little girl was raised in New York City under her mother’s custody.

But Suri has no relationship with her action-movie dad, as they’ve been estranged since she was a young child.

DIFFICULT SPLIT

Tom and the Dawson’s Creek star said “I do” in 2006 but filed for divorce six years later in 2012.

In addition to being awarded sole custody of the child, Katie also received a generous settlement for her care.

In the years since the mother-daughter duo has gone off the grid.

Suri has reportedly not seen her father since Christmas 2013.

In March 2023, a source revealed to the Daily Mail that Tom is not involved in the teen’s life at all.

“Suri does not know her father anymore, and she has not spent time with him in a decade,” they shared.

“She does not go to see his movies, and he has no part in her life.”

TOM’S KIDS
In addition to Suri, Tom has two adopted children, Isabella, 31, and Connor, 29, with his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, 56.

They were married for 11 years before the AMC star also filed for divorce in 2001.

Suri celebrated her 18th birthday last month and is scheduled to graduate from high school this spring.

During her milestone moment, Tom was spotted celebrating Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday in London.

BRIGHT FUTURE
Despite growing up in the public eye, Katie has tried to keep her daughter’s life as private as possible.

After graduation, the teen is said to be pursuing fashion college in New York.

An insider revealed that Suri is “leaning towards” attending Fordham University in the city.

“Suri is applying to schools all over the place. [Katie] really does want her to stay in New York so they can be close to each other,” the source shared.

“Katie takes great pride in her but is also extremely overprotective.”
