“The Voice” coach John Legend and his wife, Chrissy Teigen, have evacuated their California-area home amid the growing wildfires.

On January 8, Teigen took to her Instagram Stories to share some posts about the devastation.

“I haven’t had the words, it is a hellscape. We are ok as of right now, and I felt weird saying that with so many people we know and don’t know who are not ok. Thank you for reaching out. Looking for any and all ways to help our community right now, please send anything you see. And God Bless the firefighters and all first responders,” Teigen captioned a post.

A few hours later, she shared a photo of herself standing in her closet crying.

“This is surreal. I’m very scared now. Packing,” Teigen captioned the photo. She had her hand over her mouth as she tried to come to terms with having to leave the home.

Teigen appeared to be keeping her spirits high to the best of her ability, even making a little joke about having to leave home. She took a photo of some legos writing, “I [expletive] told John not to start this Lego.”

Legend and Teigen along with their kids, Luna, 8, Miles, 6, Esti, 1, and Wren, 1, and all of their pets relocated to a hotel for safety. In a video posted after they got settled in, Teigen laughed from bed with her animals climbing all over her.

“4 kids, 4 pets, and a bearded dragon walk into a hotel,” she captioned the post.

In another video, she held her bearded dragon on her chest. “Don’t worry, Sebastian made it,” she said, rubbing his back.

Thousands of People Have Been Displaced Due to the Wildfires

Legend and Teigen are some of the latest celebs to be forced to evacuate their home.

According to CalFire, there are more than 90 wildfires raging in California with more than 29,000 acres burned.

The Palisades fire is the largest with more than 17,000 acres burned since it started on January 7. The Eaton fire is next on the list with more than 10,000 acres torched. Both fires are listed at 0% containment and continue to grow and spread due to high winds and dry conditions in the area.

CalFire reports a total of two fatalities, though that number is expected to rise, according to the Associated Press.
