The ex-wide receiver said he reached out to Brady, 46, after Antonio Brown famously stormed off the field in the Week 17 clash against the New York Jets.

“I didn’t need to play a full season,” Owens, 50, said in an appearance on The Bubba Dub Show.

“They just needed somebody to at least fill some holes with AB leaving at the receiver position.”

Owens recalled the Bucs also headed into the playoffs without Chris Godwin, who had tore his ACL and sprained his MCL.

“I reached out to [Brady] through Randy [Moss] and a couple of other people, just to come in and play third down and red zone situations,” the San Francisco 49ers icon said.

“You know, this dude really ignored me.

“And I know this is probably gonna make news or whatever.

“But I don’t really care because it just shows you how like, the lack of respect is.

“But then when they get in front of you they want to act like they respect you.”

Owens said that with him on the roster, Tampa Bay would have won the Super Bowl for the second straight season.

The triumph would have earned Brady his eight championship ring.

The Buccaneers ended the season with a 13-4 record.

They crashed out of the playoffs in the divisional round, losing 14-5 to the would-be champs Los Angeles Rams.

A few weeks later, Brady retired from the NFL for the second and final time.

The ex-quaterback is now preparing for his debut season as a Fox NFL Sunday game analyst.

He recently received some advice from Fox Sports colleague Terry Bradshaw, who said Brady, 46, needs to show his personality once he gets behind the mic.

“Tom has always had a protection thing there,” Bradshaw said.

“We know about his wife, we know about his kids. We know a little bit about him, but we don’t really know him. In Tom’s situation, there is a certain amount of unknown that spurs on curiosity.

“I want him to be great, and I think he will be. But we don’t know enough about him.

“Will we see a different side? Will he be funny? Will he be witty? Will he break the game down properly?

“I’m pulling for him, because television is not easy. You can’t lie to the camera because it picks it up.”
