Johnny Depp made his Hollywood movie debut 40 years ago in A Nightmare on Elm Street. Since then, the 61-year-old has starred in over 70 movies from his indie darling days in the 1990s with auteur directors, to blockbuster stardom with Pirates of the Caribbean and beyond. Film fans on IMDb have ranked his films and it turns out that Depp has never watched No 1.

10. Dead Man (1995)
Johnny Depp stars as a meek account on the run for murder in this monochrome acid Western. During his life as a fugitive, he stumbles upon a Native American spirit-guide called Nobody who believes him to be the reincarnation of his namesake, the English poet William Blake.
