The countless Los Angeles residents who lost homes or businesses in the fast-moving wildfires that began on January 7, 2025, include many Hollywood stars, from Hallmark alum Cameron Mathison to comedy legend Billy Crystal.

With fires still burning across the city, new stories of loss and devastation continue to emerge, mixed with stories of unity and hope as people pull together to help one another. Late in the day on January 9, actress Schuyler Fisk, one of the stars of “The Chicken Sisters” series on Hallmark+, revealed that her home was destroyed in the fires, too.

But even as Fisk mourned the loss of her home, she continued to urge people near and far to do what they can to help the thousands who’ve been impacted by LA’s historic wildfires.

In the middle of posting links to resources for displaced families and ways for her Instagram followers to help from afar, Fisk, 42, shared an Instagram Story on January 9 that revealed hers is one of the many families dealing with immense loss.

Over a photo of a California beach, Fisk wrote, “i love LA. always have. seeing the devastation from these fires hurts my heart so deeply. i am heartbroken for everyone that has lost so much and for communities that have been ravaged, leveled…just gone.”

Fisk continued, “we are safe. but we found out today that we lost our home in the #palisadesfire and it’s hard to wrap my head around. i feel guilty for feeling so sad when I know others have lost so much more…lives, pets, businesses.”

At the end of her post, Fisk wrote, “but regardless, we are all experiencing a huge trauma. the calls and texts have meant so much. my heart is equally broken and full of gratitude. ❤️💔”

Fisk is typically guarded about her private life, but according to Us Weekly, she married art director Chapman Bullock in 2012. Fisk also told C-Ville in September that her greatest accomplishment is “my children.”

After sharing the devastating news about her home, Fisk continued to share resources in her Instagram Stories, urging her followers to help others in need.

Fisk shared a post from LA-based children’s clothing brand Rudy Jude, celebrating that they were collecting hand-me-downs for families who’d been displaced. She also shared posts about Share the Drop, a service that provides donated breastmilk for new moms in need, including for victims of the wildfires.

Giving back and being kind is part of Fisk’s pedigree, she told New Beauty in September. Fisk’s parents are Hollywood legend Sissy Spacek and renowned production designer Jack Fisk, per People.

“My mom has always told me to remember that ‘you meet the same people on the way up that you do on the way down,’” she told New Beauty. “Being kind to everyone is a big thing for her. Anytime she encounters someone extra gruff in life, her mission is to find something wonderful about them and to make sure they know she recognizes it.”
