A talk show host who has enjoyed years of success, Maria Menounos has become famous enough that fans want to know who her husband is. Still, Menounos is best known for the many years she has spent interviewing loads of different celebrities.

Easily one of the biggest music stars of his generation, Justin Bieber is such a big deal that he can make classic songs make a fortune again now. When Menounos interviewed Bieber once when he was young, she may have been nervous, but there is no way she knew what was to come. After the pop star mimicked Menounos, that arguably became the most memorable clip of her career.

Since the early 2000s, Maria Menounos has enjoyed a great deal of success in the entertainment industry. A long-time television correspondent and host, Menounos has interviewed most of the biggest stars in the world.

Able to quickly put stars at ease, Menounos notably has a likable and welcoming personality. On top of that, there is something else Menounos has become very famous for, her unique laugh.

Since Menounos’ laugh is so noteworthy, it often comes up when she gets interviewed. A perfect example of that is when Menounos spoke to AOL in 2016, she was asked about her laugh and she explained where it comes from.

“I did trace it back to our first trip to Greece. When I was ten years old, we went, we spent all this time, I think it might have been a month in the village where my dad is from…and I hung out with goats all the time! I was literally just playing with the goats in the backyard and I swear I got it from there. I also watched Flipper religiously so mix Flipper and the goat and then you get my laugh.”

For AOL’s aforementioned article about Menounos, they also spoke to the TV host’s ex-boyfriend of sixteen years, Keven Undergaro. According to Undergaro, he once had to convince Menounos to embrace her laugh as she was being advised she needed to get rid of it.

“When I first met her people advised her: ‘when you move to LA lose the laugh.’ I said, ‘No, Maria, when you move to LA, keep the laugh.” Given that Menounos is now known for her laugh, clearly Undergaro was onto something.

However, Menounos’ laugh has resulted in some awkward moments during her career. During a 2015 conversation with Jencarlos Canela for SiriusXM, Menounos described some big celebrity reactions to her laugh.

According to Menounos, her laugh once freaked out Johnny Depp. “I was interviewing Johnny Depp once, you guys, and it was my first time interviewing him. And I was giggly. I was obsessed with Johnny Depp growing up, so I’m like, oh my god. He touched my knee with his hand, I thought I was going to die.”

Menounos continued, “And so, I started really hard like that and he thought a machine gun went off in the room and he started freaking out. He thought, he was like ducking for cover.”

Hailey Bieber loves her parents Kennya and Stephen Baldwin, and there’s a lot to know about their relationship with their son-in-law Justin Bieber.

Menounos also described some other celebrity reactions to her laugh. “Jeremy Piven said it sounded like a goat mounting a dump truck. And David Letterman on my appearance, animated dolphins to my laugh.”

Despite how incredible those anecdotes are, there is one celebrity reaction to Menounos’ laugh that gets the most attention. After a clip of this celebrity reaction went viral, many observers had very strong feelings about the moment.

When Justin Bieber was still a teen, Menounos interviewed the pop star for Access Hollywood. According to Heavy, this interview took place in 2011 while Buzzfeed has claimed the conversation was from 2010.

No matter when Menounos interviewed Bieber, the result was the same. When Bieber jokingly responded to one of Menounos’ questions, the interviewer began to laugh. Unsurprisingly, Bieber instantly took note of Menounos’ laugh and responded to it.

First off, Bieber stated “I like that laugh” with a big smile on his face. Bieber then went on to try and laugh like Menounos. After this moment went viral, most of Bieber’s fans seemed to find the clip hilarious.

Of course, since it was Menounos’ laugh that was being mimicked, she could have felt embarrassed or upset. For that reason, it begs an obvious question, how does Menounos feel about Bieber joking about her laugh?

Did Maria Menounos Feel Insulted By Justin Bieber?

In the years since the infamous Maria Menounos and Justin Bieber interview took place, the former TV host has been very open about that moment. In fact, Menounos has seemingly completely embraced being known by some people solely for that viral moment.

People thought it was rude that Justin cut off Hailey while she was answering a fan’s question during an Instagram Live.

A perfect example of that is a video Menounos uploaded on TikTok in 2021 in which she seems to have fun with the Bieber situation. At the beginning of the video, it reads, “Questions I get asked as Maria Menounos” at the top of the screen. When the very first question, pops up, it is about the Bieber moment.

After the words, “Are you the Justin Bieber interview laugh girl?” appear onscreen, Menounos’ response reads, “Duh”. The follow-up question that appears onscreen reads, “Is that your real laugh?” to which Menounos responds, “What do you think…”

During that video, Menounos didn’t directly address how she felt about Bieber’s remarks about her laugh. However, she definitely doesn’t seem bothered by the situation. Still a tweet Menounos posted seemed to completely clarify how she feels about the Bieber video clip.

Many years after Menounos interviewed Bieber, she recreated the viral moment from their interaction. During a 2018 video that was made to promote the movie Christopher Robin, Winnie the Pooh mimicked Menounos’ laugh similar to the way Bieber had years earlier.

After the Winnie the Pooh video was released, Menounos responded to it and the original Bieber clip in a tweet. According to Menounos’ tweet, she feels great about Bieber and Winnie the Pooh’s reactions to her laugh. “Hahahhaha I’m honored they both love my crazy laugh.”
