Sometimes, it’s nice to have a parent’s blessing about the person you’re dating. We just found out what Justin Bieber’s mom Pattie Mallette thinks of Selena Gomez: She loves her, because of course she does!
People caught up with Mallette at the Justice Speaks Holiday Benefit Luncheon in Los Angeles on Saturday, December 9th. She was the keynote speaker at the event. We applaud Mallette and the work she’s doing on behalf of Justice Speaks, a non-profit organization aimed at ending human and sex trafficking. Doing good deeds must run in the family: On Friday, December 8th, Bieber vowed to help victims of the California wildfires on Instagram.
Believe it or not, Justin and Selena have been dating on and off since 2010. And back in November, Bieber and Gomez were spotted kissing at a hockey game. So, we assume that Jelena’s back on? Regardless of their relationship status, Justin Bieber’s mom had the sweetest things to say about Selena.
“I don’t know so much about their personal relationship because he doesn’t share a whole lot, but I love her. I support anything [he does], if he loves her I love her, and I’ve met her and we have a special bond so I think she’s precious,” Mallette told People. “I can’t really speak on their relationship, that’s between them.”
Aww…
We decided to dig up some old pics of Bieber and Gomez, because we love a good trip down memory lane.
Here’s the too-cute-for-words pair at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards back in 2010.
Here they are at the 2011 ESPY Awards.
Adorable! And here’s Jelena at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards.
Whether Justin and Selena are officially back together or not, we love a good throwback pic. Speaking of relationships, Mallette shared some final wise words on the subject.
“I think anyone with real love in their life is more grounded,” Mallette continued. “I think there’s so much confusion sometimes and facade in this Hollywood world, and so it’s important for us to find the ones that truly care and stick with them.”
We could not agree more. In any case, we’re glad Justin Bieber’s mom is a fan of Gomez. We certainly are!
