The preparations for season 2024 are on the go, with players and coaches putting in their cent percent to prove that they are worth it all. Whenever the question pops up, who we think is going to rule that team that we support on a personal level, we all have a name in our heads. But seems like the answer for many Colorado fans is the same this coming season.

When a question was put up via X about who they think would make a difference this year, other than the obvious names like Travis Hunter and Shilo Sanders, who are also the top contenders for the Heisman this year, the fans came up with an unexpected name – one that not many expect.

BJ Green is ready for a “strong season”

On July 23rd a fan decided to put up a straight question for the Colorado fans, “Outside of Travis and Shedeur, who is the one player that you’re most confident in having a strong season?” In response to that, not bringing up much expected Shilo Sanders, Travis Hunter, and Preston Hodge’s name; they came up with yet another interesting name: BJ Green, a defensive line player for Deion Sanders‘ Colorado. BJ is listed at 6-foot-1, 270 pounds and he was a 3-star prospect in the 2021 class out of McEachern High School. With four scholarships under his belt, he still decided to join Arizona State making a huge impact and becoming the fourth true freshman ever to lead the Sun Devils in sacks. He is a man of great talent, becoming the most productive pass rusher in the country. When Deion started his career by training the youth, Green was one of his students whom he trained, seems like the duo is back with much more experience, which will be a huge plus point in the upcoming season.

The question raised brought many Colorado fans together and to their surprise most of them hinted towards BJ making the difference this year. In the 2023 season, Green tallied 39 tackles with 11.5 being for a loss, six sacks, and a forced fumble, during his time at Arizona State. Now that he has come to Colorado under Deion Sanders, he is expected to make a huge difference on both the offense and defense. As an established rusher with 60 tackles, Green is someone who the other players need to worry about. Thinking of the poor defensive line of the 2023 season with 52 times sacked Shedeur, Green is a true value addition to the line.

Buff fans have high expectations from BJ Green this season

The replies to this engaging tweet flowed in, fans came in putting in the effort and adding the name of BJ Green, whom they think is going to make a real difference. Keeping it short and crisp, a fan came in and wrote, “BJ Green”.

The view that BJ will set a new Buff prodigy did not stand alone, as many other fans who took the same name and voted for BJ to set the game at a new level in this coming 2024 season joined it. He also wrote “BJ Green – layup”. The opinion might also be right because Green holds the experience and abilities, and he was also named second team all Pac-12.

Though another fan came in with a bit of a confusing idea as he spelled the name wrong, we are sure that his thoughts were very clear in his mind as he also vouched for BJ Green making a big difference in the 2024 season. He replied to the question raised, “BJ Greene”. Thinking of Green, he has come a long way from attending high school at McEachern to then going to Arizona State based in Tempe, which is roughly 1,600 miles, and then he committed to Colorado in 2024 which is again some 820 miles from where he was before. This man took the road seriously and would not have done it if he was not sure that he was going to excel like never before with his commitment to Colorado.

Another user went a notch ahead of everyone and looked ahead in time and declared how he sees three players making history in this 2024 season. He tweeted, “Three guys that are going to be difference makers are BJ Green, LaJohntay Wester, and Jordan Seaton.” Talking of the two other names that the gentlemen brought in, LaJohntay Wester, a WR who in the year 2023 became the school’s all-time leading receiver. And Jordan Seaton is an Offensive Tackle who has great quickness and agility.
