The pair have been friends for a while and united at the popular festival.
On Saturday, two celebrities shared a tender moment at Coachella that has now gone viral. Justin Bieber and Jaden Smith were happy to be reunited in a VIP area at the music festival.
In the video, Smith surprised Bieber with a hug from behind. Then the “Sorry” singer kissed Jaden’s cheek before having an energetic conversation with him and other friends.
Back in 2010, the pair collaborated on Bieber’s “Never Say Never,” which was also the theme song for Smith’s popular film “The Karate Kid.”
The famous friends were last publicly spotted together at Harry Hudson’s 30th birthday party in June of last year. They all attended Lana Del Rey’s Saturday headline set at Coachella, which featured a surprise appearance from Billie Eilish.
Eilish wasn’t the only celebrity to unexpectedly appear onstage. Smith’s father— the one and only Will Smith—popped up to perform “Men in Black” during J. Balvin’s set.The hit song is from his 1997 movie of the same name and served as its theme song. Onstage, Will wore sunglasses and a black suit, which was the uniform of his character in “Men in Black” which also co-starred Tommy Lee Jones.
During the set, Will and Balvin rapped the track together. Balvin’s dancers wore alien getup and a huge alien head prop was onstage to emphasize the intergalactic effect.
Even more dramatically, Balvin was hauled off by two people in black suits at the end of the performance. Will then held up the device used in the film to erase the memories of people who witness alien behavior.
Other celebrities who made surprise appearances include ASAP Rocky, Rihanna, Shakira, Paris Hilton and Kesha. When Kesha performed her biggest hit at the festival, “Tik Tok,” she modified the lyrics to say “f**k P. Diddy” alongside Reneé Rapp.
