ustin and Hailey Bieber didn’t have their first big night out as parents at the MTV VMAs this evening. Following the birth of their son, Jack Blues Bieber, in late August, the couple did not attend tonight’s ceremony in Elmont, New York, as Justin has no nominations, nor is he slated to perform or present. Justin last attended the awards ceremony in 2021 and generally has not made many big event appearances since then. He hasn’t released any new music since his album that year, Justice.

In 2022, Justin told Apple Music, via Billboard, that his next album was almost done. “I don’t think there’s a date yet, but I do know that we’re wrapping it up,” he said of the project. “It’s almost done. It sounds really good. I’m really excited about it. I got a lot of cool features, and yeah, it should be dropping not too long from now.”

Last August, a source spoke to People about Justin’s relationship with his longtime manager Scooter Braun amid rumors Justin was looking for new management. The insider revealed Justin had been creating new music with little support. “Justin’s been working on his new record for the last six months,” the source said. “Scooter and SB Projects have not set up one session or done one thing for this [new] record. The relationship with Scooter has run its course.”

Justin and Hailey have generally kept a low profile since their son arrived. Justin shared an Instagram carousel of his life as a new dad on September 3.
