WandaVision began what seems to be a trilogy of Disney+ shows. Following Agatha All Along, everything known about the upcoming Vision series suggests that details that either of the preceding series share will be fulfilled in that show. Following that, it remains to be seen if all of Agatha’s mysteries will be uncovered by the end of its run. However, details concerning Teen and the identity of Rio Vidal appear to be inevitable components that will need to be uncovered sooner rather than later.
Rio Vidal’s “That Boy Isn’t Yours” Line Explained
The Fourth Episode Of Agatha All Along Suggests Teen Is Not Agatha’s son
In the most recent episode of Agatha All Along, Rio Vidal tells Agatha definitively that Teen is not her son, stating “that boy isn’t yours” and seemingly eliminating one of the candidates for Teen’s identity. Throughout the series, Joe Locke’s Teen character has been looked after by Agatha in a relationship that seemed strangely and surprisingly considerate given Agatha Harkness’ characterization. Agatha has always seemed a bit selfish and controlling, and her relationship with Teen has seemed a great deal more caring and unusual.
Agatha gave up her son long before the events of the series, and this has been pointed to a few times in Agatha All Along. There are rumors that she traded Nicholas Scratch, who has been revealed to be her son, to Mephisto for the Darkhold. However, what is clear is that her son is gone, and Agatha seems to miss him and wish for him back. Rife with regret and pain, Agatha’s character shows disappointment when Rio Vidal provides this additional context.
Rio Could Be Hinting Teen Is Scarlet Witch’s Son
Joe Locke Has Been Rumored To Be Playing Billy Or Tommy Maximoff
It is not clear if Rio Vidal knows definitively who Teen is, although this is suggested. One of the most popular choices for the character to be playing is Scarlet Witch’s son Wiccan, a major character in the comics who could contribute to the upcoming Young Avengers project in the MCU. Wiccan is Billy Maximoff, who is also seen in WandaVision. Rio’s line here could be suggesting that she knows who Teen is, and knows the connection between him and Agatha.
Of course, there are many other characters that Teen could be. The most popular rumors have theorized the character is either Billy or his brother Tommy, but other results – whether from the comics or from the world of WandaVision – would be equally satisfying. Teen could be an agent of Mephisto, or some other character from Marvel comics that hasn’t even yet been proposed. The Marvel universe is wide and full of many names, any of which could be an option for the character.
Rio Could Still Mean Teen Is Nicholas Scratch
Not Everything Rio Vidal Says Can Be Taken At Face Value
Nicholas Scratch, Agatha’s son, was possibly given to Mephisto when he was young in exchange for the Darkhold. Following this, Teen could still be playing Nicholas Scratch, and Rio’s dialogue could be to say that Scratch is no longer her son but instead belongs to Mephisto. This is a realistic possibility, as many series like these tend to plant red herrings to throw off savvy viewers from coming to their conclusions too quickly. As such, it still seems likely that Teen could be playing Scratch.
What is important to notice is that it seems Rio Vidal knows who Teen is. Despite being a Green Witch, it would appear that the Sigil on Teen is not sufficient to keep her from realizing who he is. As a result, it appears that Rio Vidal is more than she seems. There have been theories that Aubrey Plaza is playing Lady Death, although all of this remains to be seen. What is clear is that the character is an important figure to Agatha and to the series, and that important details concerning her are yet to be revealed.
Agatha All Along has many mysteries that it needs to address throughout its runtime, although the series has been entertaining and compelling throughout the journey. Still, audiences wait with bated breath to see what will occur in each successive episode of the Disney+ series. Teen’s identity will surely be revealed by the end of the series. However, it is how this is executed that will determine how successful Agatha All Along is for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
