Adam Levine is returning to The Voice for Season 27 next year, but not all fans are happy he’s back. According to a recent Reddit poll, a lot of them are hoping he’ll leave the show permanently after next season.
Some The Voice Fans Don’t Want Adam Levine Back
Levine was one of the original coaches on The Voice back in Season 1. He coached for 16 seasons, winning three times before leaving the show in 2019. Then earlier this year, it was announced that Levine would be returning as a coach for Season 27.
Joining Levine will be first-time coach Kelsea Ballerini, and returning coaches John Legend and Michael Bublé. The new season will premiere with the Blind Audition round on NBC on Monday, February 3, 2025.
Not everyone is happy about Levine returning to the show. On Tuesday, a user on The Voice subreddit posted a poll asking fans if they want to see the Maroon 5 frontman leave the show after Season 27. As of this writing, 94 fans have responded, with 65 of them voting “yes.”
“I don’t want him back at all,” wrote one user in the comments. “After the crap he pulled, why would anyone choose him as their coach? The only people he’s going to get are the ones where he’s the only coach to turn.”
Why Do Fans Dislike Levine as a Coach?
The above fan’s comment about “the crap he pulled” might be referring to a controversial moment in Season 15 of the show. Fans felt that Levine threw his artist DeAndre Nico under the bus to save one of the other artists on his team, Reagan Strange.
Both DeAndre and Reagan were in the Bottom Three and up for the Instant Save. However, Reagan wasn’t feeling well and was unable to perform. While sharing his thoughts on DeAndre’s Instant Save performance, Levine said he had a “special relationship with Reagan” and encouraged fans to vote for her.
