Next Update Hopes to Give ‘Star Wars Outlaws’ New Life

Ubisoft is gearing up to release a major update for ‘Star Wars Outlaws’ on November 21, aiming to transform the game’s combat experience. Creative director Drew Rechner shared insights into the upcoming changes, highlighting adjustments that could make the game feel like a fresh adventure.

One notable enhancement is that headshots will become ‘more rewarding,’ potentially adding a satisfying edge to firefights. Additionally, enemy health and armor stats are being revamped to make different foes ‘more distinct,’ which might require us to rethink our battle

Enemies will also feature new weak points, defeat animations, and hit reactions, possibly making combat encounters more dynamic. Weapons are receiving significant tweaks, with alterations to recoil, fire rate, ammo, and accuracy. Some, like the Ashiga ABR-2 Zato Blaster Rifle, are getting redesigned shooting patterns. Modules are being updated too; the Power module will now allow shots through cover, and the Ion module will stun enemies for longer periods.

Quality-of-life improvements are on the way as well. We won’t drop scavenged weapons while climbing anymore, and we’ll have the option to choose which shoulder the camera favors, potentially making navigation smoother.

Rechner expressed hope that these updates will create a ‘much deeper and more engaging combat loop with more variety, choice, and satisfaction.’ These changes suggest that Ubisoft is committed to enhancing ‘Star Wars Outlaws,’ aiming to elevate our gaming experience.

For those of us who enjoyed the game at launch, this update could offer a fresh perspective and renewed excitement. It’s encouraging to see Ubisoft taking steps to refine and improve the game based on feedback and their vision for its future.
