American Idol Season 21 runner-up, Megan Danielle, is engaged to her longtime love, Levi Walker.

The Douglasville, GA native took to social media to share the exciting news on Monday morning (July 29), sharing photos and videos from her surprise engagement.

Her post included photos of the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. as well as snapshots of her with Walker’s sons. The final slide of her post features a video of Walker popping the question, with a little help from the two young boys, who hand-deliver the Idol alum bouquets of red roses just before Walker asks for her hand in marriage.

As he gets down on one knee, Megan Danielle questions, “What are you doing?”

While it’s difficult to decipher what Walker said, she could be heard saying “yes” before breaking down in tears.

Her family cheered loudly in the background as she embraced her new fiancé in a hug.

Overcome with emotions, she later shouted, “It fits,” referring to the ring.

“The easiest question I’ve ever answered ❤️,” Megan captioned her post. She also added in the hashtag “#FutureMrsWalker.”

Congratulatory messages flooded her engagement announcement, with friends, family, and even fellow American Idol alumni wishing them the best.

Little is known about Levi Walker, including his profession and how long he and Megan have been dating. However, photos of them together before her American Idol journey suggest they have been dating for at least two years.

Megan Danielle captured the hearts of millions during her time on American Idol. Her memorable audition featured a surprise appearance by Lauren Daigle, who ended up singing with Megan when she auditioned in front of judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan.

The pair formed a bond over their relationships with their grandfathers before the judges revealed her fate in the competition.

“Well, Megan, you know what you have is a real honest rawness. It’s like unpolished diamond stuff going on and I think when you start learning and we start giving you confidence and you start realizing you might can really, really do this. It’s going to be fun to watch you grow,” Luke Bryan told her at the time.

She ultimately earned a “yes” from each judge and advanced to Hollywood.

Her American Idol journey included performances of songs recorded by artists like Bonnie Raitt, Vince Gill, Adele, Patty Griffin, Keith Urban, and more.

For the finale, Megan went head-to-head with Colin Stough and Iam Tongi, ultimately placing second in the competition to Tongi.

Her debut single release came during the Idol season with “Dream Girl.” Co-written by Season 17 Idol alum Laci Kaye Booth and Logan Wall, the song was released just days before the American Idol finale. In the song, Megan Danielle offers a message of encouragement to pursue your dreams despite any obstacles that may arise.

Just after the show, Megan shared that her goals included taking the time to keep writing and recording music and she joined fellow Idol alum Maddie Poppe on tour.

While she frequently covered country artists, Megan’s true passion was for the Christian genre. She has continued to pursue her passion for Christian music and recently collaborated with Ben Fuller on the song “I Got Jesus.”

According to her latest social media posts, she continues to play shows, and earlier this month, she appeared on the Grand Ole Opry stage with Sidewalk Prophets. She called this moment a “dream come true” and admitted that tears filled her eyes when she stepped onto the iconic stage.
