That number appears to be dipping again, but the player count has spiked every weekend since The Veilguard launched (via SteamDB), so it’ll be interesting to see how things look this time next month. Regardless, there are more numbers to crunch, so let’s look at the rest of the series.
Dragon Age 2 actually fared better in the run-up to The Veilguard’s launch. Throughout June to August, it regularly reached over 1,000 players (marking its all-time concurrent peak player count with 1,421), but it has since dropped down to 698 players in the last 30 days.
Inquisition also did better in the build-up to launch, hitting an all-time peak of 4,964 players back in June. It quieted down in the months since, dropping to 3,107 players by September, but it has seen a small rise of 200 players since The Veilguard’s release.
Dragon Age: Origins Hit Its Peak Player Count When Inquisition Launched
What’s interesting about this spike of players is that Dragon Age: Origins saw a similar boost when Inquisition launched in 2014.
In the months preceding BioWare’s hotly-anticipated RPG, interest boomed. So much so that Origins hit its all-time peak player count of 8,363 players in May 2014, a number that still has yet to be beaten.
The series isn’t currently discounted on Steam, but when the Winter sales hit, make sure to try out these modern classics if you haven’t already.
