The end of Emily in Paris season four part two was a wild ride, with Emily having to choose between Gabriel or her new Italian love interest Marcello, but which one does she end up with?
Emily and Gabriel cemented their relationship at the end of part one of season four, but everything obviously starts to end up on the rocks after she escapes to Rome and meets Marcello. After their trip to France, Gabriel and Emily get into a huge argument where she feels as though she’ll never measure up to what he has with Camille, and so she runs off to Rome. Gabriel also feels frustrated that every time they communicate it’s always in English and not French.
Whilst in Rome she meets Marcello, and obviously they start dating because every single man on planet Earth is immune to the charms of Emily Cooper. However, her relationship is thrown off course when Sylvie interrupts the pair and tries to arrange a meeting with Marcello. He then accuses Emily of using him to get more business and leaves her. But, she manages to save their relationship by surprising him in his hometown, leading the two to reunite.
Meanwhile, in France, Gabriel is delighted to find out he’s being awarded a Michelin star but realises he really misses Emily. On top of that, Mindy then drops the bombshell that she’s planning on staying in Rome after Sylvie gives Emily the opportunity to run the Agence Grateau office in Rome. He then listens to a voicemail Emily left him, who has made an effort to congratulate him on the star in French and he realises he’s made a huge mistake.
As season four of Emily in Paris comes to a close, we see Gabriel deciding he’s going to find Emily in Rome but unbeknownst to him she’s all loved up with Marcello, and it seems Marcello is the one Emily will end up being with, for now… I would say I feel bad for Gabriel but that haircut truly is unforgivable.
