The marketing team aggravates fans’ grief over one crucial character’s death by releasing a new poster for The Penguin.
After eight great episodes of television, The Penguin pulled off one of the biggest twists in the realm of DC TV, the death of Rhenzy Feliz’s Victor. Despite powerful performances from Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti, Feliz was successful in emerging as the heart of the show, which further adds to the tragedy of his death at the hands of his mentor.
While this decision from the showrunners perfectly sums up Oz’s narcissism, explaining why is one of the most despicable villains in DC, the marketing team isn’t shying away from having fun at the viewers’ expense.
The New Poster for The Penguin Isn’t Helping With Victor’s Death

In the aftermath of the brutal conclusion to The Penguin, which perfectly sets up the stage for The Batman sequel, the marketing team of the Max show has released a new poster, which isn’t helping fans, who are still grieving Victor. Although Oz killing his most trusted associate sends a powerful message, cementing him as the notorious kingpin, the marketing team for the show is now intentionally trolling the fanbase, as the missing poster for Victor reads, “If You have any information, please contact the GCPD”.
Man, this is the most disrespectful poster I have ever seen.

With The Penguin being successful in exploring the underbelly of Gotham, as it didn’t shy away from delving into darker territories, it’ll be interesting to see what the future holds for Matt Reeves‘ The Batman Epic Crime Saga.
Rhenzy Feliz Was Aware of Victor’s Fate From the Very Beginning

As for the decision to kill off Feliz’s Victor, the actor added he was aware of his character’s fate from the get-go. During his very first meeting with showrunner Lauren LeFranc, who expressed that it was very important for Victor to die in order to shed light on Oz’s cruelty, Feliz added that the showrunner “told me the entire arc of Victor’s character”.
Being aware of his fate at the hands of Oz assisted Feliz, who has never died onscreen, in making the moment more “tragic and surprising”.
Oz doesn’t want any weaknesses. He just experienced what it’s like when someone he cares about is put through pain. I think he doesn’t want to feel that vulnerable again, so he might as well just take Victor out now before someone uses it against him.
While it’s a shame that Victor’s journey in The Batman Epic Crime Saga will not make it past the limited series, his hard-hitting death has further cemented The Penguin as one of the top shows of the year.
The Penguin is available to stream on Max.
