The Internet Has Just Put Forward Another Candidate for Daniel Craig's 'James Bond' Successor, and the Fans Have Reacted

For years, the world has been waiting for official word on Bond No. 8. People are always guessing who will play the role next, from long-time fan favorite Idris Elba to various new actors who catch attention.

The latest rumor, which seems to be sticking, is Aaron Taylor-Johnson, but Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, who’ve been working on the James Bond franchise for decades, aren’t giving any hints about when they might make an announcement.

It’s a big decision,” Barbara said.

They’ve hinted at a few things: the next Bond will be a man, likely in his 30s, and doesn’t have to be white. Whoever takes on the role should be ready for a commitment of at least ten years of films.

One thing is clear: audiences will need time to adjust to the change. Every new Bond has faced criticism, especially at the beginning. Broccoli experienced the backlash firsthand when Craig was chosen, calling it “anti-Daniel nonsense.”

But when “Casino Royale” came out, people’s opinions changed, and they embraced it. The five Bond films with Craig became the highest-grossing in the series (without adjusting for inflation). It’s still one of her proudest moments, and a new Bond brings fresh opportunities.

Every time we cast a new actor, the films change. It’s the excitement of a new Bond, a new direction,” Wilson said. “Every one of these people who took on the role offered something new and different.”

They’re in it for the long haul with Bond, film production, and the big-screen experience, all while keeping Cubby’s spirit alive.

He always said films were like the circus coming to town,” Barbara finally said. “You set up your tent, everybody comes and you create magic. It’s all about pleasing the audience, making sure that people get their bang for their buck.”
