The cast of Outer Banks expands in season 4 with the addition of Brown as Hollis along with many others, like Rigo Sanchez as Lightner. As mentioned above, the Pogues’ journey in season 4 mostly revolves around finding Blackbeard’s treasure — his wife’s amulet and the Blue Crown. However, they also find themselves wrapped in a competition with a group of criminals and mercenaries, which includes Lightner, to get to the Blue Crown first in Outer Banks season 4. However, Lightner’s group isn’t the only adversary the Pogues have to watch out for in the episodes.
Hollis Robinson Is A Real Estate Developer Originally From The Cut In Outer Banks
Hollis Worked With Ward Cameron

Outer Banks season 4, episode 2, introduces Hollis (played by Devious Maids‘ Brianna Brown) when she approaches Rafe at a party with a business deal. She mentions that she previously worked with Rafe’s father, Ward Cameron, who she was good friends with. Hollis is also divorced from Mr. Robinson (meaning Robinson isn’t her birth name). Viewers also soon learn that Hollis is a real estate developer (and, according to Rafe, “the biggest cougar on the island”) who went from rags to riches.

Hollis grew up on The Cut, aka the Pogues’ side of the Outer Banks, but has since made a name for herself. It’s unclear how Hollis cultivated such a prestigious reputation after growing up poor. However, as Hollis tells Sofia, whose father she worked with (in what manner is unknown), Sofia should “get what she can while she can” and that she can “choose to have this kind of life.” While that doesn’t reveal much about how Hollis came into her success, it further showcases she is willing to do whatever it takes to get what she wants.
Hollis’ Real Estate Plan With Goat Island & Why She Really Wants Rafe On It
Hollis Has An Ulterior Motive In Outer Banks Season 4

As Outer Banks season 4, episode 2 reveals, Hollis’ proposal for Rafe revolves around him buying a stake in Goat Island, which the Genrette family has owned for centuries. She claims the Genrettes are selling (because the land is haunted) and looking for a select group of partners to syndicate its 18 miles of coastline, which is why Hollis comes to Rafe. However, Rafe is skeptical of Hollis. He thinks she might be scamming him because his contacts haven’t heard anything about Goat Island being for sale. Nevertheless, Rafe ultimately comes around by Outer Banks season 4, part 1’s ending.
Hollis reaches out to Sofia’s father, who she helped in the past, about making a deal with his daughter. In exchange for $25,000 from Hollis, Sofia will convince Rafe to agree to the Goat Island contract. At first, Sofia declines. But when she overhears Rafe dismissing his relationship with her because she’s a Pogue, Sofia agrees and pushes him in Hollis’ direction. So, Rafe signs the deal, possibly making a pact with the devil. Hollis picks Rafe for a villainous purpose in Outer Banks season 4, part 1, and it’s not because she feels bad about his dead dad.
Hollis’ Twist With Chandler Groff In Outer Banks Season 4 Explained
Part 1 Ends With Hollis & Chandler Together

After (likely) robbing Rafe of $400,000, Hollis tells him that once the money transfer goes through, he will meet with the other partners syndicating Goat Island, and “all will be revealed.” However, that meeting never comes. Instead, episode 5 ends with a shocking reveal concerning Hollis — JJ learns his father is Chandler Groff in Outer Banks season 4, and the audience discovers that Groff is working with Hollis.
In Outer Banks season 1, JJ mentions that someone named Hollis Crane babysat him when he was younger, and some believe she and Hollis Robinson could be the same person.
Groff and Hollis don’t share a scene in part 1 until the very end, when the two stand together on Goat Island, looking at the water. Hollis tells Groff, “It’s going to be glorious,” before the episode fades to black. Except for that, the Netflix teen drama doesn’t disclose any details about their partnership or how they know one another (part 2 undoubtedly has all the answers).
Groff could have killed Wes Genrette in Outer Banks season 4 so that he could move forward with his plans for Goat Island. Meanwhile, Hollis has been helping him.
Hollis and Groff are certainly working together via the Goat Island deal, seeing as Hollis’ time with Rafe has a purpose and Groff’s father-in-law was the last living Genrette (aside from JJ, but most people don’t know that). Groff could have killed Wes Genrette in Outer Banks season 4 so that he could move forward with his plans for Goat Island. Meanwhile, Hollis has been helping him. Whatever the case, both Groff and Hollis give off villainous vibes in Outer Banks season 4, and part 2 will unveil what they are truly up to.
