Something is going on with Blake Shelton, but fans can’t seem to agree on what that something could be.

It all started after the “Boys ‘Round Here” singer took to Instagram with a cryptic post that prompted fans to gather in the comments to try and decipher what Shelton was insinuating.

The image, posted on Shelton’s Instagram on March 11, is an orange square with no caption. The singer’s profile picture is the same shade of orange, and he shared the image on his Instagram Story as well.

Some fans thought that the Oklahoma native was cheering on the University of Tennessee, writing, “Go Vols 🍊,” while others thought it was a reference to the bright colors that hunters wear in the woods. “What we huntin? #camoorange,” wrote one fan.

Several thought the orange was a nod to R&B singer Frank Ocean, whose 2012 album, Channel Orange, had similar album art. “I thought this was a frank ocean reference,” said a fan and another agreed, writing, “sheldon x ocean newest heartbreak country song.”

The image could mean other things as well, like a reference to his wife, Gwen Stefani’s Orange County, Calif. roots. “Not gonna lie, my brain immediately thought of the orange on tragic kingdom then I got excited about a No Doubt tour 😂😂 sorry Blake, I’ll let it be about you 😂,” wrote a fan who thought they saw a connection between the image and Stefani’s band’s breakthrough 1995 album.

Others didn’t bother to warrant a guess, simply taking to the comments to write, “WHAT IS HAPPENING, ” “BLAKE WHAT IS THIS,” and a simple “uhhh.”
