This Morning host Ben Shephard was left red-faced after his co-star Nick Ferrari made an X-rated confession about his upcoming wedding night with his wife-to-be Clare Patterson
‘This Morning’ presenter Ben Shephard quickly steered the conversation back on course after co-star Nick Ferrari disclosed an impromptu personal detail about his wedding night on the show.
The veteran 66 year old radio broadcaster recently announced his engagement to Clare Patterson earlier in 2023. In a lively debate that broke out on Thursday, following a new report indicating that married men tend to gain more weight than their wives, Nick found himself at the center of discussion due to his recent successful slimming for his upcoming wedding.
During the ITV debate with Cat Deeley and Ben, Nick conveyed his dismay at the statistics, taking into account his own strenuous efforts to lose weight for the big day.
Kicking things off, Cat revealed: “New research has found that married men are more likely to pile on the pounds once they get the ring on their finger,” according to Wales Online, reports the Manchester Evening News.
With a light-hearted dig at Nick, she added, “You’ve been there in the past Nick and you’ve got another one coming, so you’ve got hindsight and future.”
Then, unexpectedly, Nick shared a little-known fact. Contrary to the assumption by many that he’d been losing weight purely for perfect wedding snapshots or suit fittings, the real reason was somewhat more personal.
A slightly disheartened groom-to-be, Nick openly complained, “None of you have said well done, I have actually shed quite a lot of weight so the idea that I’ll now put it all back on again is quite disheartening.”
He then let out a chuckle, saying: “I’ve shed some weight so that on the wedding night… the wedding night, sorry.”
The studio filled with a mixture of gasps and laughter as Nick caught his blunder. Sporting a wry smile, he quipped: “Thank god this isn’t going out live,” quickly amending: “On the wedding day, I can dance to Single Ladies.”
Acknowledging the gaffe, Nick added with a chuckle: “Oh that went so badly wrong.”
However, the conversation kept veering back to his wedding night until Ben intervened, keen to shift focus. Wanting to steer away from the slip-up, he firmly stated: “Enough about Nick’s wedding night.”
