Martin says she has “aced” video chatting and uses Facetime before she meets a potential suitor in person. She finds Facetiming the best when it comes to dating in a digital age. Martin went on to say, “FaceTiming is great because you can tell so much on FaceTime.”
The TODAY host also went on to reveal what it says on her dating profile. Martin’s profile describes her as, “Happy girl, looking for a serious person who loves to have a blast.”
Martin’s Divorce Was Reported in September 2024
Jill Martin and husband Erik Brooks’ divorce was reported in September 2024, according to People. It was just two years after the couple first tied the knot and just over a year after Martin was diagnosed with breast cancer.
At the time of the divorce report, a source told People, “Jill is focused on getting healthy and making a difference. She’s launching a new initiative on TODAY Oct. 1 for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And she’s starting a new business this month.”
In an interview with Hoda Kotb on Kotb’s podcast “Making Space with Hoda Kotb,” Martin opened up about the difficulty of dealing with her divorce in addition to her cancer battle. Martin explained, “People are like, ‘How are you?’ I’m like, ‘Not great. I had cancer and I got divorced in a year.’”
Reflecting on her marriage to Kotb, Martin lamented, “I had a beautiful love affair, but like some stories, unfortunately, have beginning, middle, and end.”

Martin moved forward after her stage 2 breast cancer diagnosis and received a “double mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation, reconstructive surgery, as well as a preventative surgery to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes,” as reported by TODAY.
And now, Martin is cancer-free.
In a Zoom interview with Forbes, Martin stated, “I’m cancer-free and I’m fighting hard every single day to be fabulous. I wake up, and I really say what I’m grateful for. And I’d say I’m thriving under the circumstances. I mean, I went through cancer and a divorce in a year. My life is upside down, but I’m concentrating on the beautiful silver linings.”
