Beauty in Black is back.
Tyler Perry’s salacious Netflix original series topped the streaming charts when it premiered in October 2024. The second part of Beauty in Black season 1 followed in March 2025, with a jaw-dropping ending that lived up to Perry’s “mind-blowing” promise.
Beauty in Black follows Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams), a stripper who becomes entangled with the wealthy Bellarie family, the owners of a cosmetics company. The show also focuses on Mallory (Crystle Stewart), the boss of the haircare and makeup enterprise, who is trying to save her marriage and the family business.
In a March 2025 Tudum interview, Williams said her character Kimmie is “desperate for a way out” of her current situation. “She has dreams, she’s inspired to be more, but she’s both physically and mentally trapped,” the actress said.
“We watch her get pushed to her absolute breaking point through all of Part 1,” Williams continued, adding that by the end of season 1, Kimmie is “on the verge of discovering a whole new level of power.”

Yes, Beauty in Black has been renewed for a second season. The series was a hit for Netflix, with the first part of the season spending four weeks in the top 10, per Deadline.
In a June 2025 Screen Rant interview, Perry revealed that the latest season has already been shot, and it is “better” than the first.
When is the Beauty in Black season 2 release date?

Beauty in Black season 2 will premiere on Sept. 11.
Like the first season, the new installment will be split into two parts, per Tudum. A release date for Beauty in Black season 2, part 2 has not been announced.
On Aug. 21, Netflix released a trailer for the second installment, showing Kimmie attempting to take the reins of the Bellarie empire, as a power struggle ensues between her and the other family members.
In October 2024, while discussing the second part of season 1, Perry told Tudum that the remaining episodes were “mind-blowing.”
“I don’t think anybody’s going to be able to figure out where it’s going and how that rise of power happens with Kimmie,” he continued.

After Kimmie accepted Horace’s (Ross) marriage proposal, season 1 of Beauty in Black ended with her becoming the newest member of the rich and powerful Bellarie family.
In addition to being a new wife and stepmom, marrying Horace makes Kimmie the new boss of the family-owned cosmetics company — a shocking announcement that sets up a power struggle in the new season.
“We left fans on the edge of their seats at the end of Season 1, and we’re thrilled to continue Kimmie’s journey as she steps into her power as the newest member of the Bellarie family,” Perry told Tudum in August 2025.
He continued, “Kimmie exemplifies the spirit of never underestimating the underdog, and I can’t wait for fans to continue to see her story unfold. If you thought Season 1 was a wild ride, you’re not ready for Season 2.”
