CBC’s Heartland, the Canadian drama series exploring the trials and tribulations of family life on a ranch, is so, so long. With 18 seasons and over 250 episodes currently under its belt, the show is essentially Grey’s Anatomy with less open-heart surgeries and more horses. But will it receive yet another season? Based on the book series by Lauren Brooke, Heartland follows Amy Fleming (Amber Marshall) and her sister Lou (Michelle Morgan) as they grapple with the death of their mother and help run the Heartland family ranch alongside their grandfather Jack (Shaun Johnston) and their father Tim (Chris Potter). Countryside angst, family bonding, and spicy romances with the farmhands ensue.
The finale of Season 18 was equal parts heartfelt and open-ended: injured from a horse riding accident, Lou resolves to end the feud and make peace between Heartland and Nathan Pryce’s (Spencer Lord) family ranch. Tim turns down his prospective gig as a rodeo-network commentator to stay close to his family, and Katie (Baye McPherson) sidelines art school and embraces childhood for a little longer on the ranch. The love triangle between Amy, farmhand Caleb (Kerry James), and Caleb’s wife Ashley (Cindy Busby) is finally resolved when Caleb and Ashley reconnect. Sparks fly between Amy and Nathan, but trouble brews when Nathan’s estranged sister Gracie arrives to take down Pryce Beef’s competition.

Will There Be A Season 19 Of Heartland?
Yes! On May 1, the official Heartland Facebook account confirmed the show’s Season 19 renewal. The post thanked fans for their longstanding support and promised a whole new season “filled with heartfelt moments, family bonds, and of course — beautiful horses.” Saddle up for Season 19, Heartland fans.
When Will Heartland Season 19 Air?
Hold your horses! The season just went into production on May 13, so an official air date has yet to be announced. So far, the new season’s production schedule seems similar to that of Season 18, which began production in May 2024 immediately following the show’s renewal. Since Season 18 premiered in April 2025 in the US, a spring 2026 air date for Season 19 could be on the horizon.
