It was a surprise that the FOX medical drama series was an unexpected addition to the Netflix library in September, and its second season is currently airing. Will it come to Netflix? The answer points to yes, but it may not be for quite some time.
As we first reported, Netflix in the United States acquired the license to Doc in a deal with Sony Pictures Television, adding the title on September 23rd, 2025. That deal saw all 10 episodes of the first season, which aired between January and March this year, become available on Netflix in full. The removal notably saw the series depart from Hulu. Netflix in other regions outside the United States was not included and has yet to pick up the show.
The show has made a big impression since its arrival on Netflix, featuring in the weekly TV English top 10 list despite only being available in the United States. There, it clocked 13.6 million hours watched, equating to 1.9 million views for the period from September 21st to the 28th. It also remains the number #2 show on Netflix at the time of publishing on October 2nd, 2025.
In case you haven’t caught it yet, the medical drama series is headlined by Molly Parker (previously seen in Netflix’s House of Cards and Lost in Space), who plays a doctor who has to rebuild her entire identity and career she no longer recognizes after a devastating brain injury wipes the last eight years from her memory.

The Netflix addition hasn’t provided much time for people to catch up, given that season 2 is already underway on Fox. The first episode, titled “Her Heart,” premiered on September 14th, with new episodes dropping weekly beginning September 30th. Season 2 is substantially larger, comprising 22 episodes, with new faces joining the series, including Felicity Huffman and Emma Pfitzer Price.
Will Season 2 of Doc come to Netflix? Where to watch?
While there has been no official announcement from Netflix about the availability of season 2 of Doc, our understanding is that Netflix will likely pick up the new season.
Our intel suggests Netflix got a two-year license to the first season (meaning it’ll stay until at least late September 27th, 2027). Speculating, given this time period, we suspect that Season 2 is part of this deal and is likely to arrive in late September 2026. Again, nothing is set in stone just yet, but as we’ve seen in years past with shows of this nature, Netflix typically receives new seasons just before a new season is due to air, giving people time to catch up.
If you can’t wait for Netflix to pick up the new season, assuming it does, you do have a couple of other options. Although Hulu lost season 1, it is carrying season 2 on a catch-up basis. You can also watch the show directly through Fox.
