Mystery prowler was spotted near Nancy Guthrie’s $1m home weeks before her abduction
Officials investigating the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie‘s mother Nancy are looking into a possible link between the case and a mysterious person spotted near her property weeks ago.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department told TMZ that Guthrie’s elderly neighbor noticed a suspicious person at his Arizona home in early January, less than 10 minutes away from Nancy’s house.
The lurker fled the scene after triggering a motion sensor which caused floodlights to switch on, although no one was able to get a look at the person’s face. The sheriff’s department said the tip was sent to the unit investigating Nancy’s case for possible leads.
The Daily Mail revealed how Nancy, 84, was abducted from her $1 million home in Tucson late Saturday or early Sunday, according to police.
Authorities confirmed they believe she is still alive despite having no suspects identified on Wednesday.
‘We have nothing else to go on but the belief that she is here,’ Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said in a new interview with NBC’s Liz Kreutz. ‘She’s present. She’s alive, and we want to save her.’
President Trump appealed for the return of Guthrie’s mother as authorities frantically search for her, fearing she may not survive without vital medication she needs to take daily.

Police investigating possible link between Nancy Guthrie kidnapping and trespassing case
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department told TMZ it was looking at a trespassing case from January for a possible connection to the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie.
A few weeks ago, an elderly man reportedly spotted the trespasser at his Tucson home, less than 10 minutes away from Nancy’s.
The sheriff’s department said it forwarded the case to the team investigating Nancy’s disappearance.
The 84-year-old vanished after having dinner with her daughter on Saturday night, and was reported missing when she failed to show up for church the next morning.
Police said evidence at the home suggested Nancy had been ‘abducted’ in the night, including a trail of blood leading from her doorway and her doorbell camera removed.

Savannah Guthrie’s sister and brother-in-law looked tense as they were seen for the first time since the abduction of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie.
Annie Guthrie, 56, and her husband Tommaso Cioni, 50, covered their faces as they left their home in Tucson, Arizona, in a dark-colored Honda SUV at 5pm MT Tuesday.
Annie held a coral-colored hoodie over the top of her scalp to try and hide her face from photographers.
Cioni pulled his t-shirt up over his mouth and nose while wearing a pair of aviator sunglasses in a bid to avoid being photographed.
The couple, who married in 2006 and have one child together, returned to their $650,000 Tucson home shortly afterwards.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said they were the last people to see Nancy alive before she vanished.
