Investigators visit restaurants nearby Catalina Foothills in relation to Nancy Guthrie case

TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – Investigators are intensifying their efforts to solve the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie with new developments in DNA testing and video evidence.
The DNA trail is expanding as investigators visit restaurants near Nancy Guthrie’s home. News 4 Tucson learned that four locations have been visited by investigators. They are following up on gloves found about two miles from her residence, hoping the community can assist in identifying their origin.
Investigators have been visiting restaurants near the Catalina Foothills in reference to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie. This comes as the search for the 84-year-old, who is the mother of TODAY show co-host Savannah Guthrie, is in its seventeenth day.
Earlier, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the gloves submitted to CODIS yielded no matches. “That does not mean the evidence is not valuable,” Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said. “It simply means there were no hits in the national database.”
Additional DNA collected from inside Guthrie’s residence is still under analysis as investigators work to eliminate possibilities.
“This next step is about building a full picture—identifying who the gloves belong to or ruling people out,” Nanos said.
The search for Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of TODAY show co-host Savannah Guthrie, is in its third week. Anyone with information regarding her disappearance is advised to provide tips through online links. Investigators are expanding the search for DNA in reference to the ongoing case.
Residents and workers within a two-mile radius are encouraged to review their surveillance footage for any unusual activity and submit relevant clips to the authorities.
Detectives hope to obtain any video showing vehicles between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. on January 11, as well as footage of vehicles traveling through the area between 11 p.m. on January 31 and 4 a.m. Sunday, February 1.
The requested area includes the quadrant moving north from the point of incident to Ina Road and west as far as La Cholla Boulevard.
It also extends south from the point of incident to River Road and west to the end of Roller Coaster Road.
The FBI is requesting anyone with digital information, such as photographs or doorbell camera footage, to share it with law enforcement. Tips can be submitted to their link here.

Those who may have information regarding the investigation can also contact PCSD at 520-351-4900 or call 9-1-1. Tips can be sent to the FBI by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI. The FBI is now offering a $100,000 reward for information that can lead to an arrest regarding the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.
