Explosive footage of Jackie O Henderson revealing early signs that she could walk from her $100 million contact has resurfaced following her sensationally quitting the Kyle and Jackie O show.
News broke on Tuesday that the radio star had officially quit the KIIS FM show after 25 years, giving notice to the network that she “cannot continue to work with Mr Kyle Sandilands”.
Her decision follows an on-air spat between the long-time co-hosts, where Sandilands berated Henderson for her interest in astrology, resulting in the mum-of-one taking a leave of absence since February 20.
Fans of the show were delivered the cruel blow that the pair had not resolved the issue at 3pm AWST, and were informed the show would be taken off air immediately as Henderson turned her back on the 10-year, $100m contract.
“Ms Henderson will cease to present the Kyle and Jackie O show,” ARN said in a statement.
“ARN has also offered to Ms Henderson the possibility of an alternative show on the ARN network.
ARN has also provided written notice to Sandilands stating that it considers the father-of-one’s behaviour during the show on February 20 as an “act of serious misconduct”.
Walking away from $10m a year is a tough pill to swallow, but footage of Henderson talking at the Radiodays Europe 2025 event showed early signs of her intentions.
Asked by the host if she would “walk away from the show and the 10 year contract if things weren’t right”, the 51-year-old made her feelings about the contract clear.
“Yes I would, I think the older you get it’s important that you’re staying true to yourself and that you enjoy what you do and it feels authentic,” she replied.
“The minute it doesn’t, I don’t ever want to feel bound by this contract where I’m driven by money.
“I’ve never been driven by money in my career and I always want to stay true to that.
“So if it doesn’t feel right at any stage, I would be prepared to walk away from that.”
