“It was such a great little moment.”
The season finale of American Horror Story: Apocalypse essentially created a whole new timeline for the anthology series, but even with a whole new AHS dimension to play with, this character was denied one of their ‘greatest’ moments.
Yes, we’re talking about Coco St Pierre Vanderbilt, who actress Leslie Grossman has called the “silliest, sweetest, most fun character to play.”
Despite the light relief of the influencer-turned-witch, Leslie revealed to TVLine that a pretty profound – and potentially game-changing – scene was actually cut from this week’s finale.

Reflecting on the possibility of Coco being the new Supreme over Billie Lourd’s Mallory, Leslie explained a scrapped scene that could have opened up more opportunity for Coco to explore her powers.
“There’s actually this great little scene that was cut between me and Angela Bassett in the finale, right after Madison shoots Michael and we’re all running up the stairs,” she explained.
“Angela’s character stops me and asks, ‘What can you do? What’s your power?’ It’s this really funny moment where I say what I can do and she just stares at me, and then I go, ‘I know, I’m useless!’

“And she gives me this awesome little pep talk in that incredible Marie Laveau accent. She says, ‘You are a woman and a witch. Never underestimate your power. You can do this!'”
Disappointed the scene didn’t make the cut, the actress added: “I’m so sad it didn’t make it to the finale. But there was so much stuff to get through in such little time.”
Perhaps there’s scope for a(nother) resurrection and a Supreme re-do for Coco? Stranger things have happened in the American Horror universe, after all.
