Emily in Paris created an unexpected fanbase though viewers criticized the show since it’s premiere. The American girl’s Paris escapades continue.
A lot of TV shows start on the wrong foot with the audience, only to quickly revive their image as seasons go on. Emily in Paris is one such show which premiered with fan’s skepticism about frivolity and alleged misrepresentation.
However, against all odds, the show managed to not only thrive but also continue renewing for more seasons. After the release of season four part two on 12 September, Netflix decided to pick it up again for a fifth season. So although the series faced fan scrutiny, it is clear they have found the pulse of their target audience.
TV fans can’t help but love this show: Hate to love it
Netflix’s rom-com drama TV series, Emily in Paris premiered in 2020 and is already on its way to five seasons. However, this Darren Star show has not received support because of its impeccable storyline, quite the opposite actually.

Fans have repeatedly flooded the reviews with accusations and criticism of the show and its protagonist, Emily. Portrayed by Lily Collins, this American newbie in Paris is as vain as they come. The show was also criticized for its stereotypical representation of Parisians.

Irrespective of the negative views, Netflix has once again renewed it for the fifth season just days after the last season premiered. This is because the show offers its audience the rare opportunity of magic realism.
For fans of the light-hearted watch, this show serves as an escape from the tougher aspects of reality. Many people online found the predictable storyline and cliché themes to be comforting when compared to thrillers or suspense shows.
emily in paris is such a bad show like the corny dislogue, the predictable plot, the horrible outfits.. I love it give me 5 more seasons

So, the show may not be intellectual and come off as shallow and vain, but it has a target audience. Perhaps this is why it still generates enough views for the streaming site to keep on releasing new seasons.
News on the upcoming season of Emily in Paris

The last season left its viewers with the protagonist in Rome, stuck in a possible love triangle. The ‘will they won’t they’ trope between Emily and Gabriel (played by Lucas Bravo) got upgraded with the entry of Marcello (played by Eugenio Franceschini).
We’re thrilled with the incredible response to this season of Emily in Paris and excited to return for a fifth to continue Emily’s adventures in Rome and Paris!
The show’s creator also shared his excitement with Netflix’s Tudum (via Marie Claire newsletter). Additionally, although almost all of the main cast are expected to return for the next season, one actress’s role is not confirmed.

So I don’t know what’s going to happen with her in season 5. I’m not sure how much we’ll see of that story right now. But that’s sort of where she’s heading.
Speaking to Glamour, Star pointed out that the character of Camille may not be a central part of the upcoming storyline. The creator felt as if her arc was almost over and not much development is in foresight. However, it is not confirmed that Camille Razat won’t return for season five.
