Speaking to Vogue in 2019, Hailey Bieber admitted that marriage was “very hard” and that the couple were getting help through therapy. “I have to really dive deep and struggle to be in touch with my emotions. He (Justin) gets there immediately”. The model continued, “we’re two young people who are learning as we go. I’m not going to sit here and lie and say it’s all a magical fantasy. It’s always going to be hard. It’s a choice”

Justin opened up about the differences he has with his wife, saying: “I’m the emotionally unstable one. I struggle with finding peace. I just feel like I care so much, and I want people to like me. Hailey’s very logical and structured, which I need. I’ve always wanted security – with my dad being gone sometimes when I was a kid, and with being on the road. With the lifestyle I live, everything is so uncertain. I need one thing that’s certain, and that is my baby boo (referring to Hailey).”

Hailey recalled calling her mother under the weight of watching her partner struggle: “I called my mom a few different times, one particular time we were in Brooklyn and I called her crying. I was just like ‘I just can’t do it. There’s no way I’m going to be able to do this if it’s going to be like this forever.’ And she was like, it’s going to pass, and you’re going to be fine, he’s going to be healthy and we’re here for you.”
