While looking at what Wednesday season 2 could focus on, from the exciting filming location of Ireland to the stalker to Tyler Galpin’s (Hunter Doohan) story, it would be great if one particular character got more attention. Here’s who should be a focal point in the second season and why they are such a well-written character.
Which Character Should Be Featured More In Wednesday Season 2?
Eugene Ottinger (Moosa Mostafa) is an important character in Wednesday season 1 since he and Wednesday become friends and Eugene can control bees. It would be fun if Eugene and Wednesday’s friendship was developed further in Wednesday season 2 and if fans learned more about his powers. Since Jenna Ortega’s character’s powers should be explored more, it would make sense if Eugene’s were as well. According to Variety, Moosa Mostafa is part of the Wednesday season 2 cast, so there’s definitely a chance that fans will see more of him.
Since Eugene can already manipulate bees, it’s possible that he can control other insects as well. This could be helpful as perhaps he and Wednesday could work together to find out who her stalker is. Eugene could be part of a light-hearted but still fairly scary storyline and try to trap the stalker with bees and other bugs. This would build on his season 1 storyline when he forces bees on Marilyn Thornhill/Laurel Gates (Christina Ricci). If Eugene and Wednesday could discover the stalker together, they would become even closer. Wednesday could also tap into her psychic abilities and find out the stalker’s next move. It would be fun and entertaining to see them as a team.
What Other Movies And TV Shows Has Moosa Mostafa Starred In?
Nativity Rocks! (2018)
The Last Bus (2022)
While Wednesday season 2 should be better than season 1 in some ways, the first season did a great job introducing a stand-out character in Eugene. He speaks to the theme of being unique and misunderstood, and Wednesday can tell that he’s a smart and kind person whom she wants to get to know.
Eugene also needs more attention in Wednesday season 2 because he’s a kind person who sees Wednesday for who she is and doesn’t want her to change. In this way, he’s similar to Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers), who likes Wednesday from teh moment they first meet despite how completely different they are from each other. Eugene and Wednesday are both “outcasts” and while there are many YA tropes that Wednesday season 2 should forget, the relationship between these two quirky, smart, and strange characters should take center stage. Fans who know Wednesday Addams from the other Addams Family projects know how harsh and cruel she can be, but she shows a softer side when she’s Eugene. This is necessary for her character development since she feels more well-rounded and complicated, but still maintains the parts that fans know and love.
Eugene could also encourage and inspire Wednesday to be proud of her psychic powers and could be a driving factor in how much stronger she could become. It’s amazing to think what she could accomplish with Eugene by her side. This would also mean that Wednesday season 2 could lean into its more terrifying tone.
Which Else Could Happen To This Wednesday Season 2 Character?
Eugene Ottinger could be featured in Wednesday season 2 in a few other ways. There should be a mention of his club theNevermore Hummers since he will most likely still be the president of it. Maybe he could teach Wednesday more about bees and she could pick up some of his powers, which would be a fun side storyline. He may mostly hang out in the background of scenes at Nevermore since there are a lot of other characters, including Steve Buscemi joining the cast. But if Eugene has at least a few scenes with Wednesday, that would make up for him not being featured as much otherwise.
Eugene could also become part of Wednesday’s family and share some funny scenes with her brother Pugsley since Wednesday thinks of Eugene like a sibling. Viewers hope for more funny Addams Family plotlines and since Eugene has a quirky and offbeat love for bees, he would likely have some memorable interactions with Gomez (Luis Guzmán) and Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones). Maybe he could show them everything he knows about bees and show them what he can do, which would be fun to see.
