AN ARREST HAS FINALLY BEEN MADE!
Anna Kepner’s grandmother has confirmed that an arrest was made in her case. Because her step-brother is a minor, records will remain sealed until he gets moved to adult court.
BACKSTORY:
TITUSVILLE, Fla. — Anna Kepner was just 18 years old when she died aboard a Carnival cruise line with her family. Her body was discovered on November 7, 2025, while the ship was returning from a six‑day Caribbean cruise.
A housekeeper found her under a bed in her cabin, reportedly naked and wrapped in a blanket and covered with life jackets in the room she shared with her 16‑year‑old stepbrother and younger brother.
Sources state the night before, Anna wasn’t feeling well during dinner and left to return to the room and rest. After the boys finished dinner and returned to the room, they reportedly changed into swim trunks to enjoy a night swim with the family. Anna’s younger brother left the room first, but her step-brother, Timothy, stayed back for a while. Sources state he was infatuated with her and at times, inappropriate.
According to information from the Miami‑Dade County Medical Examiner’s Office, Kepner’s death was caused by mechanical asphyxia, meaning her airway was cut off by another person or force — a determination that led to the homicide ruling. The death certificate lists her time of death at 11:17 a.m. on Nov. 7, though the fatal injury likely occurred the night before.
Federal authorities took over the investigation when the cruise returned to PortMiami on Nov. 8, with the FBI leading the inquiry since her death occurred in international waters. Officials have released few details, and no arrests have been announced.
Court documents from a separate family custody dispute suggested that Kepner’s 16‑year‑old stepbrother may be the person of interest or suspect in her death, though law enforcement has not publicly confirmed this nor disclosed any charges.
Kepner, a high school senior from Titusville, Florida, was remembered by family and loved ones as a cheerleader with plans to join the military after graduation. Her tragic death has drawn intense public attention and questions about what happened aboard the vessel in the crucial hours before she was found.
