A new teaser for Bridgerton season four was unveiled, and the video revealed that Jonathan Bailey’s Anthony Bridgerton will be returning for the Netflix series’ latest installment.
Dearest gentle reader, a familiar face is returning to the ton.
A sneak peek at the fourth season of Bridgerton was unveiled on Feb. 14, and the Netflix trailer revealed that a fan-favorite character from previous installments will be making an appearance.
So, which beloved cast member will be gracing the ballroom floor again? In a behind-the-scenes clip toward the end of the teaser, Jonathan Bailey—who plays Anthony Bridgerton, the eldest of the Bridgerton siblings—was seen in full regency era attire, waving at the camera.
Of course, fans got glimpses at other moments to look forward to in the trailer as well. At one point in the video, Sophie Baek (played by newcomer Yerin Ha) was seen wandering through a decadent garden while wearing a stunning shimmery gown and white masquerade mask. Behind her, Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) watched her while leaning against a fountain and wearing a mask of his own.
Sophie told Benedict in the clip, “It is a spectacular night.”
Indeed, that evening will seemingly be quite memorable. After all, later in the teaser, the pair—whose love story is set to be at the center of season four—can be seen dancing together under the gazebo while donning the same ensembles.
As for who else will be returning for the latest promenade? The trailer included appearances from season three love birds Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), as well as Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie), Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell) and Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh).
Still, there is one important detail that hasn’t been uncovered yet: the official release date.
But Nicola promised that it will be well worth the wait.
“It’s going to be amazing,” the Derry Girls alum previously told E! News before describing the energy on set. “Luke and Yerin are hard at work.”
