Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ daughter, Suri Cruise, drops her father’s surname and goes with her middle name Suri Noelle, her graduation certificate shows.
Suri Cruise, the 18-year-old daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, has officially graduated from LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. The ceremony took place on Friday, with her mother, Katie Holmes, proudly by her side. Photos and videos obtained by Page Six capture the joyous moment as Suri posed for pictures with Katie and a friend in New York City. The new graduate was also seen animatedly hugging another fellow graduate, marking the occasion with warmth and excitement. However, it’s not just the graduation that’s making headlines. According to reports, Suri has chosen to drop ‘Cruise’ from her name, now going by ‘Suri Noelle’ —her middle name.
This follows a trend in celebrity families, as Brad Pitt’s daughters Shiloh and Vivienne recently made similar changes. The name change highlights the ongoing estrangement between Suri and her father, Tom Cruise, which has persisted since his 2012 divorce from Katie.
Suri was spotted enjoying her prom night with her musician boyfriend, Toby Cohen last week. The young couple didn’t shy away from public displays of affection, sharing a kiss in Central Park and basking in the glow of their new chapter together. Toby, who had previously made his Instagram private amid relationship rumours, looked equally smitten.
The Mission Impossible star, meanwhile, was notably absent from Suri’s graduation. Instead, he made headlines by attending a Taylor Swift concert the same day, where he was seen enjoying himself in the VIP section with celebrities like Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, and Liam Hemsworth.
Tom and Katie tied the knot in November 2006 in Odescalchi Castle near Rome, Italy, and during their six-year marriage, they welcomed their daughter Suri. Tom and Katie announced their divorce, in 2012, with Tom expressing his sadness over the situation. A statement from the actor’s spokesperson read, “Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children.”
