Jodie Foster, actress and director, recently opened up about her complex relationship with acting in an interview with Interview magazine. Despite her successful career, Foster admitted that she never truly embraced acting, feeling it was “against her nature.”

Starting her career as a child actor at the age of three, Foster confessed that she would have likely pursued a career as a lawyer or professor if not for her early start in the industry. Instead, she found herself drawn to the technical aspects of filmmaking, such as directing and producing.

Foster also shared how her acting process evolved over time. Initially isolating herself from co-stars, she now recognizes the importance of collaboration and interaction on set.

As a director, Foster emphasized the significance of rehearsal and pre-production, aiming to create a comfortable and prepared environment for actors. She expressed her aversion to directors who delve too deeply into actors’ personal lives, preferring a more technical approach.
