From his teenage years on the big screen to winning an Oscar and his iconic role in Titanic, Leonardo DiCaprio’s career has grown immensely over the years. This way, the American actor leads a luxurious lifestyle and owns a large collection of cars. However, he not only drives cars in real life, but also in his work.

Throughout his extensive and successful acting career, DiCaprio has been seen behind the wheel of an endless number of models, such as the Lamborghini Countach from The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) and the Cadillac Fleetwood from The Aviator (2004). However, today we will focus on the car that stands out as the most expensive car he has driven in his films.

This is the Duesenberg, the iconic car that we see in the 2013 film, The Great Gatsby, set in the 1920s and which tells the story of Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) and Jay Gatsby, a New York millionaire who drives this style of cars. The most surprising thing is that this model can currently reach very high values, its original price was $20,000 and, according to Business Insider, the production company invested $3 million in the Illinois museum for this piece in 2011.

As for the car, we are talking about a model specifically from the year 1929, with a characteristic yellow color, and which stood out for its exclusivity and for being a marker of power at that time. It was equipped with a DOHC 8-cylinder in-line engine and 7.0 L and, in turn, worked with a 3-speed manual transmission. It produced a power of 269 hp and a speed of 124 mph.

A small detail is that The Great Gatsby takes place mainly in 1922, while the Duesenberg was produced between the years 1928 and 1937, but it seems that the director did not consider this information important. In this way, a 1929 car stands out as the most expensive car that Leonardo DiCaprio has driven on the big screen, and for some, the best.

For Leonardo DiCaprio. Driving the 1920s cars during the great Gatsby (2013) was the hardest thing he had to do during filming as he had to be inside something that was over
