Teen is at the center of the biggest mystery of Agatha All Along. He first appears breaking into Agatha’s house, leading to a chase through Westview. After Agatha finally catches Teen, her attempted interrogation triggers a chain of events that causes her to regain her memories. Afterward, Agatha sets out to get her powers back, and Teen insists she helps him get to the Witches Road. Agatha initially wants him to scram despite their mutual goal of attaining magical power, but she is intrigued when Teen cannot reveal his name due to a sigil covering his mouth.
The unlikely duo decide to form a coven and head for the Witches Road. During the second episode of Agatha All Along, the mystery deepens after Agatha is unable to discern Teen’s speech when he divulges his backstory. The sigil doesn’t appear, but Agatha—and the audience—are still prevented from learning more about Teen’s identity. One of the most popular theories builds off of the saddest conclusion from Wandavision: the erasure of Billy and Tommy Maximoff from existence.
Agatha’s Car Wreck Case May Foreshadow Billy & Tommy’s Fates
A Fan Theory Connects Teen To The Car Crash “Agnes” Investigated
At the start of Agatha All Along, Agatha’s detective alter-ego Agnes discovers the dead body of an unknown woman. Later, it is confirmed that the deceased woman is Wanda Maximoff herself. Agnes also connects the body to a car crash involving two potential perpetrators. One redditor took this idea and spun it into a theory: “Billy Kaplan was supposed to die in that wreck, but a disembodied Billy Maximoff took his empty body.” Following this line of thinking, the second individual in the car could be Tommy. Associating the twins’ return with their mother’s death could be a hint.
In the comics, Billy and Tommy Maximoff are reincarnated as Billy Kaplan (Wiccan) and Tommy Shepard (Speed), so they could return as the victims of the Eastview car crash in Agatha All Along. However, given Agnes’ warped perspective, the two suspects in question may refer to Doctor Strange and America Chavez, who defeated the Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Even if Billy and Tommy do not connect to the wreck, their return could still be a key part of Agatha All Along. There are a variety of magical means that could bring the boys back. In fact, the show has dropped a few hints that further the possibility that Billy Maximoff is Teen.
Agatha All Along Has Already Hinted Joe Locke’s “Teen” Is Billy
There Are Two Major Theories About Teen’s Identity
Agatha All Along has shared a few breadcrumbs about Teen so far, some of which align with Billy. He mentions his boyfriend, and Wiccan is one of Marvel’s most popular gay characters. Something significant happened to him at age 13, which would be 3 years before Agatha All Along, as in when the Westview incident occurred. While the ages don’t line up, Billy could be older due to magical shenanigans or the body-swap theory. However, the biggest smoking gun comes in the form of Teen wearing an outfit that resembles Wiccan’s in his character poster.
Billy isn’t the only potential identity for Teen, though. Wandavision famously featured the return of Evan Peters as Quicksilver; only, he wasn’t really Pietro Maximoff at all. The writers of Agatha All Along may want viewers to assume Teen is Billy so that they can pull the rug out from under them later. The most likely candidate for Teen’s identity aside from Billy is Nicholas Scratch, Agatha’s son in the comics who is typically a villain. Agatha All Along already revealed that Agatha had a son who she exchanged for the Darkhold and that his fate is unknown to her.
The sigil that stitches itself over Teen’s mouth resembles an “M,” which could symbolize a few things: Maximoff, Mordo, or most interestingly, Mephisto.
The spell on Teen prevents him from clearing up the mystery himself, but it also gives a few clues to the audience. The sigil that stitches itself over Teen’s mouth resembles an “M,” which could symbolize a few things: Maximoff, Mordo, or most interestingly, Mephisto. The latter was widely speculated to be in Wandavision, though that didn’t come to fruition. Since then, episode 3 of Agatha All Along confirmed the Marvel villain exists in the MCU. Notably, Mephisto was mentioned when discussing Nicholas. The mark could indicate that he has a reason to prevent Teen from revealing himself to Agatha.
Tommy Also Being Alive In Agatha All Along Would Be A Major Reveal For The MCU
Billy Isn’t The Only Maximoff Twin
Aside from all of the speculation regarding Billy and Teen, it’s important to note that Tommy is a major part of Wandavision’s story. If Agatha All Along resolves the sad fate of Billy Maximoff, it only makes sense that Tommy would get a second chance, too. Billy shares his mother’s witchcraft, which makes him a more natural fit to be integrated into Agatha All Along, but that doesn’t make Tommy less important. Speed is a Young Avenger just like his brother and possesses super speed like his uncle, Quicksilver. As such, Tommy could be an asset to the MCU.
Regardless of whether the Maximoff twins come back, Teen’s identity is likely to remain a point of intrigue for the rest of Agatha All Along. All 6 remaining episodes will premiere on Disney+ Wednesday nights at 9 PM ET/ 6 PM PT, concluding with a two-part finale on October 30, 2024.
