The Star Wars universe is one of the largest fictional universes in existence. George Lucas’ original movie idea has since expanded and become a vast universe with thousands, if not millions, of stories. Aside from the main movies, series such as The Mandalorian and The Acolyte have attracted a lot of attention, and while not all of them were equally successful, they are a part of modern pop culture.
Due to the franchise’s popularity, fans are always expressing their wishes and plans for upcoming projects, and numerous rumors are circulating around the Internet, some of which are more plausible, some less. In light of a recent rumor that appeared online, we decided to investigate.
You might have stumbled across a rumor that Lucasfilm is moving forward with a Star Wars: Revan movie with Brie Larson as the titular character, a female version of the character. A poster was also released. Is that true? Well, we have done the research for you, and if you want to know what is true or not, continue reading!
We don’t know if you’ve actually stumbled upon this rumor or not, but a lot of fans have, and some of them were quite curious as to the veracity of this rumor. What exactly is the rumor about? Well, first, take a look at this poster:
BREAKING NEWS: Disney has announced that they are moving away from streaming shows and moving forward with more movies. The first after ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ in 2026 will be what fans have asked for for years. A movie set in The Old Republic. Since the games allowed both female and male Revans, they have cast a fan favorite from the MCU, BRIE LARSON, as the lead role to add to the diversity of the project.
Well, we know that the first part of the rumor is more or less true, as we’ve already reported that Lucasfilm is shifting to movies, with The Mandalorian & Grogu being a prime example of that new strategy. We also know that Lucasfilm is planning on exploring the Old Republic, which is another part of the rumor that is more or less true.
The Old Republic means Darth Revan, of course, especially in light of the fact that a remaster of the Knights of the Old Republic games is in the works. And this is where it becomes tricky.
A Darth Revan-centered movie coming out in 2027 is far-fetched, and while the above poster suggests that the film will feature a female version of the character (as the games allow it), with Brie Larson playing the main role, we can confirm – unfortunately or not, depending on your perspective – that the poster is an AI-generated one and that such a movie is not happening as far as we know it. This doesn’t mean that it won’t happen, but this rumor is definitely false.
