The drama miniseries Under the Bridge follows the Canadian case of the death and disappearance of 14-year-old Reena Virk.

Per Gladstone, ‘She goes out with a group of who she thinks are her friends one night and doesn’t return home.’

The Hulu series is said to explore ‘some lessons we could adopt.’

She went on to explain that she landed the role of police officer Cam Bentland through her connection with co-star Riley Keough who plays Rebecca Godfrey.

‘Yeah she slid into my DM’s,’ the Fancy Dance star said. ‘I’ve been a fan of her, she says she’s been a fan of mine and started following me a year later.’

According to the actress, they have been there for each other and amplified one another’s social media posts.

‘Because of the age of all the kids, it forces us to involve some of the social inequities that both made Reena very vulnerable to bullying, but also created this culture of bullying for those kids,’ she added.

Lily continued to explain, ‘Bullies are hurt powerless people, so what are the systems in place that create that disparity?

‘What creates hurts marginalized people in our society that are vulnerable to violent crime but are also penalized more heavily when it does happen.’

The Montana native revealed that conversations on the topic of alleviating bullying were brough up frequently on set and behind the scenes.

‘I was so grateful that my character, even though she’s fictionalized, she’s an amalgam of a woman who was in the police force at the time and really just became a representative of an indigenous presence in the story,’ she gushed.

‘In Canada… indigenous communities have been leading the charge of really the practice of restorative justice, it’s kind of where we want the compass of the show to point in the end,’ she noted.
