Imagine if the beautiful Ariel in Disney’s animated film The Little Mermaid had sharp teeth and human blood on her lips. Well, that’s exactly what the team behind The Little Mermaid thought when they came up with the concept of this film!

To make one more nostalgic film a traumatic event for the world, MSR Media recently released the trailer for their upcoming horror film. Based on the story by Hans Christen Andersen (the author behind The Little Mermaid), this horrific trailer is everything that Halle Bailey’s film wasn’t (and surprisingly, in a good way)!

The Little Mermaid Is Now A Horrific R-rated film!

It was 2023 when the iconic film Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey was released to average reviews. Based on the character of Pooh, the film was naturally a childhood-ruined moment for millions of people.

Following that trend, a trailer for a horror Bambi film and a horror The Little Mermaid film have also been released. The upcoming film is a project by MSR Media and Leigh Scott is set as the director of the film.

Starring Lydia Helen, Mike Markoff, and Jeff Denton in the lead roles, the trailer can only be described as…unique (to call it politely).

 

 

The trailer starts with a dig site where proof of an ancient civilization is uncovered. On the other hand, a mysterious woman starts buying several properties around the beach and people are suspicious. The narration can be heard saying that mermaids drink the blood of humans so that they can have legs and *walk* on land.

So all in all, the plot seems pretty simple. A mermaid comes to town, buys property, unalives a bunch of characters, and may or may not have a final showdown with the hero. Oh also, there is a romantic angle to this film as well. Even with its qualities that fans allege are “cringe”, the film is still a highly unique project.

Despite the hate and love that the trailer has received since its recent release, fans are taking to X (formerly Twitter) and talking about how they actually want to see the movie (and comparing it to Halle Bailey’s live-action Disney film)!

Although there are some who want to keep their childhood memories pure, others…well, let’s just say others want to see some blood and mermaids with sharp teeth!
