In an exclusive September 2 video conversation with Parade, Ramsay said, “That’s very kind. All good, indeed. Thank you. Feeling much better. And yeah, just a procedure that was necessary. But the team was amazing.”
Ramsay Encourages Fans to Wear Sunscreen
Ahead of Labor Day weekend, Ramsay posted two photos on Instagram showing a bandage under his left ear and stitches along the side of his face.
In the caption, he expressed gratitude to his doctors and urged followers to protect their skin.
“Grateful and so appreciative for the incredible team at The Skin Associates and their fast reactive work on removing this Basal Cell Carcinoma, thank you!” he wrote. “Please don’t forget your sunscreen this weekend ❤️ I promise you it’s not a face lift! I’d need a refund…….😜.”
Ramsay’s Daughter Breaks Silence
Fans flooded the post with well wishes, while his daughter Holly Ramsay added a heartfelt comment: “Love you dad❤️.”
Her dad may be one of the most famous celebrity chefs in the world, but Tilly Ramsay is carving her own path in the kitchen. The 22-year-old aspiring chef is stepping into the spotlight with her new culinary series, “Dish It Out”.
The show features cooking challenges and surprises, including mystery boxes filled with ingredients Tilly must incorporate into her dishes. “It was such a fun way to learn about new ingredients, try new things, and just add a bit of mystery for myself and everyone at home,” Ramsay shared.
Special guests will also appear throughout the series, including her dad, Gordon Ramsay.
What to Know About Basal Cell Carcinoma
Basal cell carcinoma is the most common form of skin cancer, typically developing on sun-exposed areas such as the face, neck, head, and arms, according to the American Cancer Society. While it grows slowly, it is essential to treat it early to prevent the cancer from spreading deeper into tissues, such as bones.
The Skin Cancer Foundation notes that warning signs include open sores that do not heal, reddish or irritated patches, shiny bumps or nodules, small pink growths, or scar-like areas. If left untreated or not removed completely, the cancer can recur in the exact location.
A Message of Gratitude & Awareness
For Ramsay, sharing his diagnosis publicly was not just about his own health but also about raising awareness. By showing his bandages and stitches, he encouraged fans to take sun protection seriously and prioritize regular skin checks.
The celebrity chef’s candid update left followers both reassured and inspired, as he continues to focus on recovery with the support of his family and medical team.
