The wife of McFly star Danny Jones, Georgia, faced a difficult time during his stint on I’m A Celeb as she faced a major life milestone without the support of her husband
Georgia Jones, the wife of Danny Jones, previously confessed to being a ‘broken woman’ after making a major life change that the McFly star coincidentally labelled a ‘nightmare’.
While Danny, 38, was taking on Bushtucker Trails on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! towards the end of last year, his wife was at home with their seven-year-old son taking on solo parenting. But at the same time, Georgia, 38, was tasked with the hugely stressful time of moving out of their family home into a new abode without support from her husband.
After Danny was crowned King of the Jungle, Georgia said they were on “different pages” as they were reunited, with the McFly star feeling well-rested from his adventure Down Under and Georgia feeling like “a broken woman”.
Speaking on the Mum’s The Word podcast with Kelsey Parker last year, Georgia said that while she was “really pleased” to see him crowned King, she said: “He’d gone through a real mindful experience. He came out to a wife who couldn’t have been further from that. The two worlds didn’t quite match with one another because I was so happy for him but then ann exhausted, broken woman. I was on a very different page to him”.

Just last week, Danny appeared on Rob Beckett and Josh Widdecombe’s Parenting Hell podcast, where he spoke about family. Towards the beginning of the podcast, Danny said to Josh about his house move and asked: “Are you renovating? Same mate. It’s a nightmare isn’t it?”
Rob then joked: “Is that why you went in the jungle to get money for the renovations?”, as Josh added: “To get away with it. Have my kitchen done – three weeks in the jungle.” Rob then quipped that “You’re honest when they go – why are you here? I’ve got a massive tax bill and she’s left me. That’s why I’m here. Give me the kangaroo d*** and let’s get this done.”
Being as candid as ever, Georgia also took to Instagram to share a heartfelt confession of how she was feeling while Danny was on I’m A Celeb. In an emotional video, she explained her absence from social media and explained that she had been busy moving house. As she began to tear up, Georgia admitted: “We have moved house whilst Danny is in the jungle, and I have done it on my own, and I am a broken woman, to say the least.”
She continued: “I have had the help of the most incredible woman, Carly. If anyone is looking for a PA – she’s not mine, she’s Danny’s, I do not have one – she’s your woman. My friends, my mum, my dad have just been flipping incredible. I have got a village, full-blown village.
“I actually didn’t want to move from the house we lived in. I loved it there, but we do it for the kids, right? Anyway, I’m very, very emotional. I’ve had an emotional evening. It’s just a lot. But also let’s talk about the jungle, not just me and my house move without my jungle husband here.” Georgia went on to talk about Danny’s time in the jungle and gushed over how well he was doing.

But this wasn’t the first time Georgia was honest with how she was feeling during Danny’s stint in the jungle. In one Instagram video she also shared: “I’m a bit of an emotional one today.” She went on to explain: “I think it’s just been bubbling. Obviously, house move on its own is stressful and then working at the same time, solo parenting and having a husband in a jungle. So today’s it’s just kind of come to a head.”
She continued: “The last thing I want to do is not be my authentic self, which is what my Instagram is. I show real life, I show who I am, I show ups and downs and highs and lows so that you guys feel, you know, less alone with anything you might be struggling with. So I’m just having a bit of a wobble and I’m just a bit tired and just making sure I’m looking after everyone and keeping everybody happy.”
Desperate for a break, Georgia embarked on a rejuvenating solo retreat. She told her followers: “So whilst I was still in Australia I decided I needed to do something for me… a solo trip, one to push me out of my comfort zone but also one to give me the break I craved. So… I booked a little cabin in the middle of nowhere, somewhere near Shropshire, and found a little nugget of calm in my overwhelmed brain. I chopped fire wood, built fires, sat in silence, read books, slept, took in the views, watched the sheep in the nearby field… and it was perfect.”
